Today I wake up on the 4th floor with a full heart and an honest mirror.
My life hasn’t been gentle. It’s been turbulent, loud, beautiful, painful, victorious, and humbling. I’ve spent most of my years singing, creating, giving my voice to the world. I’ve worked with many people along the way some who lifted me to incredible heights, and some who taught me hard lessons through disappointment. I honour them all, because every chapter shaped me.
I’ve won awards. Ive travelled the world. I’ve Sang for many thousands on some of the biggest stages. I’ve lived monumental moments. And I’ve also made mistakes - many of them. I haven’t always shown up with the best character. I know some people have experienced me as rude, stubborn, or difficult. With reflection, I can now see where they were right, and how that may have slowed my own progress. That truth isn’t easy, but it’s necessary.
The last few years away from the industry, becoming a mother, forced me to sit still. To look inward. To grieve friendships I lost through my own rigidity. I carry regrets, but I also carry GRATITUDE because even those flaws taught me lessons that will last a lifetime and have made me into a person that I really love today.
Today, I am softer. More tender. More aware.
My daughter is my greatest teacher. She teaches me patience, kindness, love, generosity, and how to truly be present. She teaches me how to be still. She is my reminder, sent through my mother, that there is always a second chance. There is always salvation. There is always tomorrow. She is the real MVP.
To my fans who stayed, waited, believed, and never left, thank you. To my friends and family, thank you for loving me through every version of myself. And to anyone I’ve ever hurt or offended, knowingly or unknowingly, I am truly sorry. I hope, in time, you can forgive.
Here’s to growth.
