📍Old Milanese Trams
Keywords: being lost, being disconnected, being free and “watched” at the same time
Pondering the topic of transportation spaces and their liminal essence and also using the keywords as a starting point, I decided to finish this triptych finally prepared to come out of this loneliness, finally trying to get on the tram, a symbolic path leading to a better life, communium, finally connection with people, getting back on “the way”.
I am waiting impatiently, trying to pass time in every way possible, connecting with the rain and the water surrounding me again and trying to find comfort in this tough decision.
Sometimes they don’t stop. Sometimes the doors don’t open. And sometimes we need to come out and try, and that is enough of a win.

📍Piazza Liberty
Keywords: connections, human contact, communium
This place is the place I always take my closest friends to sit down and have a quick italian snack at, talk a little bit, observe the many people and the beautiful architecture - a place of many memories connected to communion.
Sadly those moments are very rare and whenever I return to that spot I feel my loneliness even more amplified. All the memories of the sunny days with the sunny people hit me at once, I sit with the noise of the town but I feel completely disconnected. Many times I spend my nights there, observing myself and how people communicate - me in silence, them in noise. Static noise.
I construct a home of stillness, protected under a “roof” - another place of comfort amidst the centre of the cold storm.
This piece is a meditation on my loneliness, of the lack of community and the coldness that surrounds me - through the people and the materials.

📍Via Brisa
Keywords: old/new, childhood, past memories
When I was younger I couldn’t go out with my friends because I lived far away so my books became my friends. I used to construct a comfort space inside my living room in order to read in privacy, be cozy and escape from the world.
In Milano, I feel the complete opposite - exposed, but lonely again, in search for comfort and a new place to call my home, so for this project I constructed my childhood “house” in between the old and the new, in between the cold city and the warm memories.
This is one of my most vulnerable pieces, I’m inviting you to my comfort space but also showing you my reality of life in Milano. Also this project was a massive emotional release for me, therapeutic in a sense, I am really glad I got to work in this group and produce what we did.
