We always have our firsts, and yesterday was a lot of firsts for me, first depth competition, first white card for depth, first time to compete in a monofin and to add to that, first time to wear a mermaid tail in a freediving competition. Happy to share this moment with

Then everything fell into place, I don't want to use rubber merfin for this competition since it's open water and the current might be too strong for it, and I'll be diving deep, so a merfin won't be fit for that purpose. I thought of using a monofin, Instructor
@ken_underwater has a one and asked him if I can try to check it it fits me, and did! Well it's a bit tight but monofins should be that tight anyway, next question is if the monofin can fit in my Mermaid tail, and it did! If any of these didn't match, I won't push through, but all went well.
Tbh. It was already on my mind to someday compete with a mermaid tail as a tribute to mermaid instructor and also to promote mermaiding but only for pool comp, didn't know it'll happen yesday, not on pool but on open water.
Big shoutout to these people who helped a lot during this comp and provided things and support I needed to do this milestone for me and the Filipino mermaid community.
