I AM HERE

Quick note: As of now I will release all my work as a director and photographer solely under my actual name. Maik Schuster. This is not a goodbye. I AM HERE will live on as a creative space for workshops, exhibitions and beyond - but will be disconnected from the creative output itself. I AM HERE is the collective I founded back in uni together with a bunch of amazing people. After a couple years pushing the work as a duo together with Max I continued solo and was lucky enough to make my mark in the commercial world. From developing 16mm film in buckets to directing global campaigns for some of the biggest brands. It sounds like a flex but I’m just grateful — for everything I AM HERE was and will be. Never would’ve imagined what it would become when we started. Now it’s time for a new chapter. A series of kinetic installations we created for @rimowa together with Acte TM. The installations break down the manufacturing process of the iconic classic cabin suitcase and celebrate the art of engineering. It felt like a truly different approach with these installations being the backbone of everything. Their design and kinetics then influenced the storytelling, photography and filmmaking process — all then to be assembled under the holistic concept of "Around The World".
