Of all the skills I've learned since I got into motorbikes, I think foraging for my own tools is the one that I value the most. Not only is it a great way to get out and see nature and an excuse to get on the bike but it saves a bit of cash as well. I also think there's something really worthwhile about going out and getting your own tools from their natural environment rather than buying mass produced stuff from the shops. First of all, the Kove 800x is a fantastic motorcycle, next we're going to find out if it's a tough motorcycle. A huge thank you to @kovemoto_benelux for going above and beyond and making this happen. I haven't posted for quite some time. There has been a lot going on in the background so here's a little update for everyone. I'm spending as much time as possible back with @the_machine_shop_ltd as some of you know things are really taking off here so I'm staying away from home for a while working out what the future looks like. The machine shop will also be joining me at this year's Apprentice Vince with the amazing @austinvinceofficial this is one of our favourite events and by far and away one of the best things I've ever done on a motorcycle and the perfect place to test the full capabilities of the Kove And then very pleased to say that I'll be part of the build team for @northside_dk for the first proper festival of the year. If you're there let's boogy I have also hit the final stages of editing with my trip to the Himalayas last year, it's taken me a long time to get around to this and I'm pleased to say I've got something presentable and ready. A big thank you to @zeromotorcycleseurope and @desert.rose.academy for a really fun day out. I got to try out several bikes from the zero range that I've been interested in for a while and was genuinely very impressed with the XE for its power and ease of use off-road. I did a short ride with the DRS-X and definitely enjoyed it but would want to spend more time with it to work out how practical it would be for my lifestyle. If you're curious about electric or if you just want to get a feel for motorbikes or even try off-roading for the first time I would definitely recommend going and seeing the guys at desert rose. Having spent a full day on the TS pro from @vergemotorcycles I have definitely managed to form some opinions. Overall they're very positive. The power delivery as I mentioned is absolutely insane. When I say the engine is always making peak power, what I mean is the engine is always capable of making peak power. The power band is essentially a straight line until it maxes out. And you don't have to worry about the throttle being too aggressive because you can fine-tune it down to single units on the computer on the customisable ride modes. These rise modes are range, zen, beast and custom. Beast mode is not an understatement. Not only can you fine-tune the torque delivery but you can also customise the engine braking and traction control. That hubless electromagnetic drive at the rear of the bike makes it incredibly responsive. My concern was that this would make maintenance difficult. However, from speaking to Verge the brake and tire changing is fairly simple, in fact, on the rear, it's actually very easy to get the tire off. And because the bike is essentially a battery and a motor. There's not actually a lot of moving parts that can go wrong. What I asked about the battery lifetime they still have a generation 1 motorcycle that runs to about 85% of it's previous capacity. So so far so good. It is a little confusing not being able to hear an engine and have audio feedback for your speed and power but you quickly adjust to this. One of the biggest problems with EVS at the moment, range anxiety. At the moment the bikes in these videos can do about 120 mi on a full charge, full charge takes 15 to 20 minutes. With the new batteries, a full charge takes 10 minutes to get to 80% and the range is 350 on a full charge. As someone who puts on a lot of miles, I find that interesting and exciting. The TS Pro is not something I would use for my style of riding, I practically live on my bike but if you could put that technology into a platform like my tiger and I could run it at the same costs as you can run these, it cost us about £5 to fill up the battery, that would interest me #ridesafeandatayhydrated #EV #elecetricmotorbike #biker #technology

As a general rule when people ask me what I think about a motorbike I often say if I haven't ridden it, I can't really say anything about it. This especially goes for my opinions on electric bikes because I don't know what it's like to own one and ride one and how they actually feel. Well thanks to @vergemotorcycles I got to spend a day with the TS Pro and talk to some of their team about the projects this company is working on and some of it is very exciting and very new. As a general rule of thumb, if it has two wheels and goes fast, I'm probably going to enjoy it. The biggest concerns people have about electric as far as I know from talking to them is range, infrastructure and of course noise. I'll have a video up soon with my impressions of spending a day with the bike and discussing some of those concerns.
