I turn 41 today . Here is everything I wish I’d known / I wish I’d learnt in my 20s / 30s.
Set boundaries , they’re worth it .
Sleep solves a lot .
Do not minimise yourself to be more ‘likeable’ or palatable. If they don’t like you , they’re not for you .
Choose your yes’s wisely , how and who you spend your time with matters
Real success is not burn out , (for me it’s being able to pick my kids up at 4pm everyday)
When someone steps away from you , it says more about them , than you.
Friends are love stories too. Love them hard and they’ll love you back . You’ll need them.
Be silly . Be cringe . Make the memories .
Say no when you need to and without guilt. Say yes even though it makes you uncomfortable .
Invest in good skincare.
It’s OK if you still don’t know what you want to do- follow the journey and learn lots of skills along the way. Those skills are transferable.
You will always feel ‘old’ . Do it anyway . Your spirit defines your age .
