We’re suuuuper proud of the De Lacy Sound System and how it looks, feels and sounds - but building it was no joke! Swipe across for a sneak peek into the process:
1️⃣ Our first test of the pattern… we wanted our system to look unique, and @iamfredcrouch had been testing similar pattern designs on boxes and furniture
2️⃣ Test build - an exciting moment for us to see a 3D example of the pattern on a speaker cabinet
3️⃣ First test horn - a bit of a learning curve (no pun intended) - amazingly the sound was great but still needed some tweaking
4️⃣ Timber delivery day - a very exciting day. All veneered birch ply
5️⃣ Wheeeeeel that delivery in
6️⃣ Inlays start getting cut into the veneered birch using a CNC machine
7️⃣ Sides of the speaker boxes coming off the CNC
8️⃣ 1 of 4 sheets of inlays (!)
9️⃣ And so the inlaying begins… a very long process. We maaaaybe underestimated the amount of time it would take!
🔟 Inlays, inlays, inlays… inlays for days
1️⃣1️⃣ First pieces with inlays fitted, finished and oiled. Felt like a milestone moment - v v exciting!
1️⃣2️⃣ After a lot of work and practice, the system takes shape and is ready to leave the workshop
1️⃣3️⃣ The soundsystem and the venue @kingswood.arts meet each other for the first time 💞
1️⃣4️⃣ We miraculously pull it together in time… and the party pops off!
Well, that was a fun trip down memory lane!
Come and see what all the hype is about and hear the system for yourself, this Saturday! Still some tickets available via the link in our bio 😘
xoxo
And so De Lacy Sound becomes De Lacy Sound System.

Here’s a large table designed and built for @allpressesspresso Manchester. Made from a mixture of Solid and veneer Oak. It’s a big one! Made in collaboration with my friend @alex.lay.furniture
If you’re in Manchester go and sit and enjoy a delicious coffee.

Here are another few shots from the kitchen I completed earlier this year.
All lower doors and drawer fronts are mahogany swirl veneer. The worktops, splashback and upper unit doors are made from Fenix. The cat is a British Blue.
Hope you have a wonderful new year! X
Doors, drawer fronts and end panels I did a couple of months ago. I made these as solid, handmade Oak veneers backed onto sheet material to give them more stability.
The handles are solid, shaped strips of Oak.
The grain flows along each side and the end panels have some amazing character.
Really please with how it all came out and in such a beautiful home!
DM me for more info and if you have anything you’d like made x
Here’s another recent collaboration from the same series with @wearenotlimited
Some lovely, two timber, coat hooks. These are solid Oak and Maple.
The design is far more complex than it may seem at first glance. @wearenotlimited base their branding on four simple shapes, each of which are held within each hook. The base, stem, face plate and through tenon are each of the four shapes used in the branding. (It’s definitely harder to make simple looking items)
