I have dreamed of being on The BET Awards since I was a little girl and in the same breath (recently) I have watched their affiliates cancel me out behind closed doors.

So appreciate the closed doors. I wanted a major label behind me because it’s obvious that with major distribution success will be within reach at faster pace. But I realized something very important and that’s that I put way too much pressure on myself. I’ve walked in so many doors being frantic for success and all along God was saving me from nightmares.

A smile can change the world.
I actually may have jaw problems in the near future from how much I smile 😆
I’ll tell you all something I’ve found that I have carried with me for my entire life…. the secret of a smile. When I was a young child, I use to stand in a mirror and practice smiling. My baby cousin had the sweetest and cutest dimples. I wanted them so bad, I sucked my jaws for 3 years and installed them myself.
I have one friend who can attest to the fact that I wasn’t born with dimples.
Science looked like magic in the hands of people who could create endless possibilities.
This is a bit sporadic because rarely ever do I write anymore but please bear with me.
I’m getting off topic but this is still about smiles.
Yesterday was Friday, May 8, 2026 and I could have possibly saved a young man’s life.
He works at Walmart. Now me personally, I am someone who always inserts themselves into situations because I was designed to be an aid to my community. So I’m always active and in pursuit of doing good deeds. I’m always an ear for the need.
So I arrive at Walmart. I’m walking through the parking lot and headed inside. There is only one other person near me which is a Walmart employee (young, black male). Now as we’re walking, someone is honking their horn insanely and it made me look back. The young man was riding on a mobile chair so I’m obviously thinking in my head, the person honking the horn must need the chair and is possibly disabled!
So I ask the associate on the chair if he heard the car honking, he pulls a headphone out of his ear- so given the benefit of the doubt, I’m like “Okay, he may not have heard the honking,” but NO! He confirms he heard the person honking and that “It’s a chair over there already,”. - as if we suppose to read his mind!
So I’m upset at this point and said to myself, “Let me walk back to this car and see why they were honking and if they need a wheelchair, I’m snapping,”
Sure enough?
An elder black man who just had a hip replacement!
I told him don’t worry, I’m going back to get the cart and checking him.
