i started sampling records again on day 3 was called to do it again at 7117. i forgot how much i love the art of sampling.
also forgot to do a test record on my screen and obs recorded nothing but audio…again.

i felt i needed to switch up the vibes so went for some dnb. always fun in this genre.
the obs screen record is capturing the second window on my monitor so no ableton to see.
all these sessions are only for the creation aspect of the beat or else i would go crazy with mixing in this genre.
busy day today but still made time in between my schedule.

i randomly chose from a pile of records, the original soundtrack for Stranger Things Season 1: Track 7 - Eleven
the first track was difficult. so i played the b side and found this track.
was dope to sample again. i’m really glad i don’t have to depend on sampling to make a beat like i did as a teenager but still love the art form deeply.

45-60 minute session with my youngest waking up before the drums.
day 2 and im feeling benefits of getting ideas out daily under pressure. Just getting back into it so nothing’s too complicated yet.

here’s my way of forcing myself to make music like i used to. also my first time recording a session like this and definitely adds the pressure i want to get used to.
one beat a day for 30 days will flex that muscle again and get me back into my practice because i made no time for that in 2025.
if the beat turns out good, dope. if the beat turns out bad, dope. atleast we tried. genre or style will be all across the board, whatevers the mood. happy new year.
