What’s “normal” to you isn’t everyone else’s norm and that’s okay.
But that doesn’t mean you should shrink your standards.
My non-negotiables as of lately:
☕ My coffee must be hot with a splash of cinnamon + nutmeg.
📋 And my meetings must have an agenda sent 24 hours in advance to everyone attending.
When I onboarded a client back in October, I shared that upfront. She and her staff actually loved it because it immediately set a culture of clarity and respect around communication.
Guess what?! She’s implemented 24-hour advance agendas into company policy.
Simple yet very effective!
Your standards might be the very thing that influences other people, shapes a team’s rhythm, and becomes a real expectation for everyone. Don’t shrink when it comes to how you want to be handled. Speak your norm, it has power.
