Hiking Hump Ridge 🥾
With bookings for Great Walks opening next month, I thought I’d put this trail forward as a contender.
It’s hard to summarise such an incredible hike so instead, here were some memorable moments:
- Hiking through the most incredible forest in fog and rain on day one.
- Sat in possum shit.
- Having the best sissy and brother-in-law who organised to have a cake helicoptered up for my birthday (!!!!) 🥺🥺
- Creating a camera cover out of a zip lock bag as I conveniently left mine at home.
- Clouds parting on day two for the most insane ridgeline views.
- Window wipers for arms as mosquitos were absolutely rife.
- Realizing once at the hut that it was one degree 🥶 <— literally me.
- Red wine both nights.
- Seeing some of the biggest native trees with lotssss of Rimu.
The Hump Ridge Track has a different booking system so you can book at any time of year but if you’re weighing up whether it’s worth it, it’s a big fat yes from me. It was one of the most challenging but rewarding hikes with 67km across 1838m (total) elevation. Sore but stoked 👏🏽
If you’re interested in knowing a little more about this Great Walk, I’ve written all about it on my website, link in bio ✏️
Some pinch me moments 🥹
So fortunate to have had such incredible conditions for this trail. Even got to see a kea up close for the first time!
Definitely recommend hiking this track just before sunset, but beware of the stairs, steep is an understatement 🥲

Highly recommend a mission out to the Hunua Ranges 🌿
It’s pretty freaking mind blowing how pretty it is, and perfect for a full day adventure as there’s Hunua Falls, plenty of picnic spots and great walks to boot 🥾
Definitely worth a road trip to visit but if you’re in or around Auckland CBD it’ll take you just under an hour.
Almost broke my camera taking the last photo (oops for not securing it properly) but thankfully it survived and no one else was around to experience the embarrassment.
If you’d also like to have the place to yourself, make it an early one. It’s well worth the alarm 🫶🏽

The surprise of my life and the easiest yes @just.romanaround 🥹💍🤍
Not much evidence of the proposal but if these snippets from last two years are anything to go by, we’re in for one hell of an adventure together 🥰
Lupins in January 🪻
Since the lupin season is quickly coming to a close, we found ourselves pretty darn lucky to find a whole field full just outside of Lake Tekapo.
Pinching myself and stoked about the timing as you can see 😄 (!!!)

Week before last I was lucky to be invited out to the Coromandel to work on a project.
It included getting to explore some popular spots but also some hidden gems too, and was the first big project I’ve been on since working for myself full time.
Feeling very grateful to just be able to explore, and be trusted to capture everything they needed. Here’s a snippet (there’s so much left to edit and share!), along with locations ☺️:
1 & 2: Crayfish Bay
3, 4 & 5: Ōtama Beach
6. Ōtara Bay
7. Matapaua Bay (Point)
8, 9 & 10: Opito Bay Pā
Hope these come in handy for your next visit to the Coromandel 🤍
Oh, hey thereeee 👋🏽
It’s been a minute since a feed post so I thought I’d rewind to one of my favourites from a couple months ago.
This is the Redwoods Memorial Grove Walk in the Whakarewarewa Forest 🍃
📍Location: Rotorua
🥾Length: 3.4km
🎒Time: 1 hour
🌿 Elevation: 70 meters
🎟️ Entry: Free
Probably one of the most low effort but stunning walks and definitely a must-do when visiting the Bay of Plenty 🙃 You’re also not short of options. With so many different trails, you can make this walk as long or as short as you like 🌲
Highlights from the land down under 🦘
From spending time with the girls in Sydney to sailing the Whitsundays, this packed 10 day trip had a bit of everything chucked in.. Even a couple of spitting llamas 🦙
We were pretty spoilt for views, too.
Now back at home, couple months later - left my job, moved into our new home (which I’m absolutely obsessed with) and starting a new chapter 📚 Bring on the rest of 2025 📸✌🏽
The last few months of adventures have looked a little like this 📸⛰️🌿🌙👫
Have been lucky enough to get out and explore more of Auckland. It’s pretty magic that even after 10 years there’s still new hikes and incredible lookouts to find.. This trail in Taupō for sunset had also been on the bucket list for a while.
Also now that we’ve moved into our home in the Waitākere Ranges I’m pretty damn excited for more adventures to come. A cheeky trip to Aus is on the cards next (literally, now) but post this we’ll be into the cold and rainy season but we can’t let this get in the way now, can we?! 🥴
Dreamy summer days in Northland ☀️
Have always wanted to spend a little more time exploring the north. Thankfully, over the holidays we got to boat, hike, sunbathe, relax and explore this beautiful part of New Zealand.
These are just some of my favourite outtakes 🫶🏽
Some of the prettiest islands I ever did see ☀️
Grateful to have spent a few days exploring the Bay of Islands. This one in particular was incredibly stunning and not only with its crystal clear waters but the 360 view you got at the top was *chefs kiss*
A birthday I won’t be forgetting any time soon 🫶🏽
📍Waewaetorea Island, Bay of Islands
Day two and three 🙌🏽
Started out a little foggy but as we ascended we were treated to snow capped mountains and beautiful skies. Lucky us, this continued into day three where we spent walking through forest and a few hours soaking in rays at Routeburn Falls Hut. Pretty damn ideal.
