In other news, Kensey and I are taking a 6 month Sabbatical before we embark on our next chapter together.
First stop, Australia, a nostalgic, much awaited visit to my birth country and return home after almost 20 years away.
A couple more photos from ‘KINGS’.
I would like to thank the welcoming people, ‘kings,’ ‘knights,’ ‘guards’ and horses of Kunovice, Czech Republic for allowing me to come and document these incredible events and share their řízky/slivovice/chlebíčky.
Everyone go visit CZ. I’ll gladly be ur guide.
More from my photo project, ‘KINGS’
“For centuries, the Pentecostal tradition of the ‘Ride of the Kings’ has taken place in a handful of Czech villages throughout Southern Moravia.
While the core of this tradition has been cemented into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list as a wholly pure representative of Czech culture, the peripheries of the cavalcade give context for how it is fully celebrated today.”
After 5.5 years of living in the Czech Republic, I have finally reached a big milestone and have been granted Permanent Resident status.
This time here has been one of the most formative periods of my life and my appreciation for my Czech friends, people, and it’s incredible culture grows every year that we’ve been here.
I’m also excited to share a portion of ‘KINGS’, my photo project whose leading image was published in @dolcevitacz magazine, which explores the Czech Pentecostal tradition of ‘Jízda Králů’ - Ride of the Kings.
I’m currently in the middle of Romania a couple days into my 50 day solo motorcycle trip through the ‘Other Europe’ going from Prague to Macedonia and back again in a 10,000km sweeping East to West loop going through a planned 15 countries.
Travelling by motorcycle is demanding but puts you right in the environment. I feel every microclimate, smell, raindrop. My feet flying just inches from the ground. I want to feel and truly see this side of Europe and figured what better way than by bike, no regrets yet (despite two flats, etc).

Also, if you know anyone in the Balkans or things I shouldn’t miss, let me know !! #benandbike
