Important Update!
To those who follow my story on WhatsApp, you may recall my previous post about Iya Stella, a mentally unstable educated woman in my neighborhood. I didn't follow up on her story well because I wanted to gather more information and pictures of her and her only child.
For new readers, let me summarize: Iya Stella is mentally ill, but her daughter Stella is not. I've known Iya Stella since my secondary school days and always wanted to share her story, hoping she'd receive help to care for her child but there was no boldness nor courage from me but i think th e time is now to summon courage.
People often say Iya Stella's mental health issues stem from excessive reading ("book ran her mad"), as she speaks excellent English. However, her condition affects her ability to provide for Stella.
In August, I met Iya Stella on the road, and my concern for Stella grew. Despite Iya Stella's fluent English, Stella struggles to express herself. In 2022, during my Teaching Practice (TP), I assessed Stella's academic ability and was saddened to find she couldn't write numbers 1-10.
Recently, I saw Stella attending school, but I'm unsure how this came about since I'm not always at home.
My primary concern remains Stella's well-being. In 2020, I jokingly asked Iya Stella if she'd let someone help care for Stella, and she disagree. However, she later distanced herself frim me possibly thinking I wanted to take Stella away from her.
I've asked Iya Stella about Stella's father, and she gave conflicting answers: initially saying he's a policeman and later providing a different story. Due to her mental state, it's challenging to determine the truth.
Please help me share Stella's story! She deserves a stable environment to grow. Currently, Iya Stella uses begged money for gambling (Baba Ijebu), and Stella often begs for food when hungry. I really do not want STELLA to fall prey to exploitation.

For some of us, we love God genuinely. I really do not know how to say this enough that everyone will get.
Fine, problems brought some to God.
Tiredness brought some to God.
Genuine repentance brought some to God.
Some People met God early days of their lives.
Some Parents/guardians introduced God to some, but in all, we all found God somehow and we are grateful to be on Jesus's side. Our love, hunger and thirst for Him is so real and he also knows. He Himself can feel it that there's a child on earth that loves Him.
Probably some of us don't really know how to love Him perfectly but we try our best.
The journey with him isn't always perfect or smooth. Infact, there's temptation,doubt,compromise and even sin. Flesh take over at times but one thing that's certain and sure is that we know we love God from the buttom of our heart and we hold on to that and it's not only because of what we want from Him but For who He is and trust God to sorth your needs out if you put him first.
