The mewmewkaisen duo joins the Hypnothesis 5 lineup this Saturday! mewmewkaisen (みゅみゅ回線) is a kawaii-denpa electronic duo formed by hanako & nonocut.�Working fully DIY, they handle production, vocals, mixing, and the creation of their own visual universe from scratch. Their sound is rooted in retro electronics, breakcore fragmentation, and denpa-core energy, constantly shifting between hyper-cute melodies and distorted, high-speed chaos. Their debut single “UwU”, released on June 16, 2025, marked the birth of their noisy-cute aesthetic and received great attention. Debuting this Saturday at Hypnothesis 5: [ ] [ ] is a brand new collaborative a/v set featuring original music and visuals by Yangyang Hua, Cash and b.liew | godxear. Expect ambient, digicore, IDM, shoegaze, and cloud rap, encompassing feelings of euphoria, serenity, and glitch. A little more about each of the artists: Cash [@isthiscash ] is a multi-disciplinary artist & engineer based in NYC. Their work explores ethereality within electronic music, acting as an active force in the underground ambient, electroacoustic, and glitch communities. b.liew | godxear [@b.liew ] is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and dancer working at the intersection of digital and physical media. Drawing from cyberpunk, abstract futurism, and bio-synthetic motifs, he oscillates between playful and dark, blending digital aesthetics with organic flow. Yangyang Hua [@yangyang_hua ] is a singer, songwriter, and producer blending shoegaze textures with electronic ambient soundscapes and hyperpop energy. Her work explores emotion and digital intimacy through genre-fluid experimentation. This week, the Hypnothesis V stage welcomes Telluryde. Hailing from Minneapolis, Tyler Girk brings a unique brand of heavy bass forged in the wintery atmosphere of the Midwest and inspired by the surgical sound design of legends like Noisia and Kill The Noise. With nearly a decade of production under his belt, this performance marks a massive milestone: Telluryde’s first-ever, all-original A/V live set. Building on their collaboration with MassArt, Hypnothesis is introducing a new featured audio-visual performer to their lineup. Emerging in 2021 under the moniker San Galel, Ix is a performance sculptress operating between Latin-America and the heart of the US war machine. Their practice takes action via custom-fabricated hardware, mixing high stimulus third world hyper trip-hop that critics have described as ‘deep state emo’. On May 2nd they present A/V work from their long-anticipated EP change is coming alongside other select pieces from their original discography featuring corrupted, declassified, unexplained or recursive artifacts of the content-drunk Anthropocene.

Berklee vs MassArt collab alert! A select group of MassArt installation artists are being featured at Hypnothesis 5 Gallery this May 2nd at club Sonia in Cambridge MA. As one of the lineup’s most bass-heavy acts, Blodge is set to deliver an immersive audiovisual experience at Hypnothesis 5. His performance features three distinct, synchronized Blender animations for every track, each meticulously mapped to a different projection screen surrounding him on stage. Blodge is a Chinese electronic music producer and DJ who has rapidly carved out a distinct identity within China’s new generation of Bass music. Known for his razor-sharp mixing, avant-garde sound design, bold genre fusion, and dark, atmosphere, he stands at the forefront of the country’s cutting-edge bass movement. His work deeply integrates styles such as Tearout Dubstep, Uptempo Hardcore, and Hybrid Trap, while actively pioneering his own defined genre: ZaagStep. Centered around the signature Zaag Kick and incorporating HDM elements with extreme, distorted heavy bass design, he forges a novel sonic architecture that balances sheer destructive power with technical precision. His innovation extends beyond sound experimentation into intricate arrangement, structural tension, and emotional depth. Widely recognized within China’s HDM and Dubstep communities, Blodge has established himself as a driving force in the evolution of the local bass music landscape.

Building upon core themes of identity, displacement, and psychological dissociation, this iteration expands the video-mapped installation from the gallery to center stage at Sonia. Here, it functions as both a physical performance and an immersive environment, allowing internal states and external realities to coexist spatially and temporally.
