On the occasion of the 61st Venice Biennale, Jennifer West (
@jwest20011 ) will present Stitched Cosmos, an otherworldly exhibition of new works curated by Francesco Urbano Ragazzi (
@the_internet_saga ). The show will open its doors on May 6, 2026, at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
During the opening event, the ground floor of the university will be permeated by cosmic music composed for the occasion by Open Reel Ensemble (
@openreelensemble ). Through the use of reel-to-reel recordings, the Japanese band brings Jennifer West’s analogue and digital, moving and still images into yet another dimension, translating into rhythm the awe one feels when looking at an impression of the universe from a century ago.
During the evening, there will also be a book signing for the stellar monograph Jennifer West: Media Archaeology, published by Radius Books.
