With a host of upgrades and changes to the @hyper_racer X1 over the last few months, we finally got to test the car and new parts. Join me onboard as I scrub in some slicks and familiarise myself with the new wing.
Regrettably we had a GoPro mount fail in this qualifying session and subsequently didn’t get weekend footage of the racing which was a shame as the start of race 1 was some of the best fun I have had racing. Close and respectful driving.

New UK spec twin element wing fitted to our @hyper_racer . Excited to test it and see how it feels. Had very positive results in Australia where it was extensively tested ahead of sign off.
We are also really happy with how cool it looks!
Other progress: fire extinguisher serviced and refitted, new chain guard fitted, new diff installed, new brakes fitted.
Another days work with the hand clutch, reverse gear upgrade and few other race prep jobs and we shall be all set to go!

Pre race birthday for our @hyper_racer X1.
A few upgrades to get our car up to current spec and a pre race spanner check!
Upgrades include:
New Diff and drive shafts
New quick release steering wheel boss
Upgrade reverse system
Chain guard and new chain
New brake pads
UK spec twin element rear wing
Hand clutch assembly
New gear shift cable
And fire extinguisher service.
New slicks on order … let’s go racing.

My 3rd ever dry session in the @hyper_racer around the iconic Silverstone GP circuit with @monopostoracingclub
It is such fun to enjoy some multi class racing and get the car on track in anger. Given it was our 1st dry weekend in the car we learned a lot and made some changes ahead of this race to the aero which took a few laps to learn. Fun to be battling F3 cars on track though.
Looking forward to getting back out in the near future with a host of upgrades including a different sprocket to shorten the gear ratios and a new rear wing to meet UK regulations and reduce drag. Also have the introduction of a hand clutch as well as a new rear diff and drive shafts which will make for a more positive front end.

The Hyper Racer is in great company at @birchgatwick where it is stored and often displayed between races. Found a few clips of our Hyper Racer X1 (@hyper_racer ) racing at Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit with @monopostoracingclub that had not been posted, mainly due to the dirty lens. Wanting to learn how to edit and get more video content so thought I would throw a few overtakes into the mix for a bit of fun.
