Hyperlento Showcase — restitution views from Via Giolitti 32C. A slow-motion collision between club culture, distorted frequencies and speculative atmospheres. On April 24, Cripta747 hosted the first Hyperlento Solutions showcase in Turin: a “Lento Happening” unfolding through listening sessions, moving images, lectures and DJ sets. Between fractured rhythms, Morse-code light signals, sci-fi hallucinations and slowstyle mutations, the night brought together audiovisual research and dancefloor tension in a temporary environment suspended across rave, cinema and collective ritual. Conceived as a sci-fi, Pasolinesque hallucination—the imagined soundtrack to an Elio Petri film—VIPRA’s debut album CINEMA JAO 2420, released on Hyperlento Solutions, was presented at MACRO – Museum of contemporary Art of Rome and partially recorded at Forum Studios, Ennio Morricone’s legendary recording space. With nods to Italian Slowstyle, cyberpunk game FX and fractured club rhythms, the album inhabits a zone where narrative collapses and rhythm becomes sculpture. h. 21:00 DANCING TOWARDS THE LIGHT — Documentary 27”. Dancing Towards the Light, ᒧᒥᕐᓂᖅ ᖃᐅᒪᔪᒧᖅᐸᓪᓕᐊᓂᕐᒧᑦ is a feature documentary by Canadian journalists and filmmakers Ed Ou and Kitra Cahana. On the shores of the Hudson Bay where Arviat, Nunavut is located they have filmed the Sila Rainbow Dance Competition, an annual event that highlights the talents of Arviat youth. The film shows how for Nunavut youth, dancing has become a way to keep suicide at bay and has become a powerful force for hope, healing, and cultural resilience among indigenous communities in Northern Canada. h. 21:30 LENTO VIOLECTURE — Presentation 45”. VIBRISSE, DJ/producer duo based in Turin will present “Lento Violecture”: an audiovisual talk exploring the genesis of Slowstyle—also known as Lento Violento—a uniquely Italian form of dance music that emerged in the early 2000s, characterized by slowed-down tempos, heavy distortion, and an intentionally raw, aggressive sound. It is with great pleasure that we announce the presence of YYDJ @y.yny.y this Friday in Torino for our first showcase 🌀 Yanyan W. is a sound and visual artist born in Sichuan, currently based in Northern Italy. Her practice moves between experimental performance and visual research. Working through the reconfiguration of materials, she develops a distinct vocabulary centered on density, distortion, and rhythmic tension. In her work, sound is treated not merely as a musical form, but as a physical and spatial presence, altering states of perception through fluctuations in intensity, pressure, and saturation. Performing also as YYDJ, she extends her research into material, time, and structure across diverse contexts, with attention to accumulation, rupture, and tension as compositional forces. She is the co-founder of Self Repair, an experimental label and live series. The project explores the dual nature of sound as both a force and a condition, examining how it occupies space, reshapes perception, and constructs temporary environments. This initiative brings together underground experimental practices from different regions within a broader constellation not defined by scene or function.
