Back in 2016, we packed our bags in Brazil and moved to Canada with zero idea of how much our lives were about to change. One thing hit us fast: we really missed the flavours from home, especially real açaí!
By 2022, we opened our first juice bar in London, Ontario… and wow, sourcing real açaí was almost impossible. So we made a decision: if we can’t find authentic açaí in Canada… we’ll make it here ourselves!
We also connected deeply with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community in Canada, because the values are our values: family, respect, discipline, and perseverance. That energy became a huge part of our journey, and we are so grateful for all our BJJ friends!
In 2024, Hyper Açaí was born. Brazilian roots. Clean ingredients. Fair trade. We kept a close relationship with Brazilian native communities, saw the process firsthand, and made sure everything was done with respect for the Amazon, the people, and the culture we love.
We officially launched wholesale at CHFA 2024, and started serving retail and food-service businesses, bringing real açaí to more Canadians. @cahealthfood
Then came 2025, a wild milestone year. We stepped into Dragon’s Den (insane experience 🤯) and kept growing, sharing our story, our struggles, and our passion. @cbcdragon
Today, we’re still a family-owned Canadian business with Brazilian soul, working hard, pushing every day, and building Hyper Açaí into a national movement.

Ten years ago, we left Brazil and moved to Canada with big dreams and no roadmap.
Fernando is the kind of person who makes everything feel possible. High-energy, endlessly driven, a true hustler, and the type who turns strangers into friends within minutes. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt on his journey toward black belt, he lives by the values the sport demands: discipline, resilience, and never tapping out. That same mindset fuels the way he approaches business, relationships, and life.
Raquell is his counterpart in many ways. An engineer turned marketer with more than 14 years of experience building strategies for B2B companies, the person behind the scenes bringing structure, strategy, and vision to what we build together.
Canada became home in every sense of the word. We built our life in London, started a family, and are now raising two boys together.
Through all of it, one thing never changed: our love for the fruits we grew up with in Brazil, especially açaí.
Our connection to açaí goes far beyond the product itself. Fernando has climbed açaí palm trees in northern Brazil himself, and we carry a deep respect for the land and for the communities that harvest these fruits every day with their hands and hearts.
We wanted our boys, growing up Canadian, to stay connected to where their parents came from. And we believed Canada deserved to experience those flavours too.
That belief became a business.
And that business became a mission.
Together, we’ve built something grounded in our roots, built for Canada, and driven by genuine passion.
