They were hand fabricated using jewelry making techniques, high temperature silver soldering, brazing, and cold riveting to hold everything together, then sanded down and brought to dimensions before being powdercoated. Powdercoating is a very durable way of painting metal where a fine layer of dry pigment gets attached to the work piece and then is baked on ensuring a molecular bond to the metal. The lenses were then installed, and acetate ear socks put onto the arms to ensure a comfortable fit.
