This conference is a gathering of the world's most tech minded cities, nations, and corporations, sharing how they are using technology to bring society into the next phase of the technical (r)evolution. In the past hour, I've had conversations with AI, peered into the future with Virtual Reality, used Augmented Reality to see real time the piping below the surface of the ground. It's hard to believe that my future children may not experience car accidents, traffic jams, or driving a vehicle. I can't help but feel simultaneously excited and overwhelmed. For the first time, I can fully grasp what it must feel like to be a part of an older generation, not knowing how to keep up with the rapid changes. I am beginning to wrap my head around the fact the society as I know it is going to be radically and persistently changing for the rest of our lifetime and well beyond.
