HW 3 - Zingers 3 An appalling first 45 saw us three down. Zingers were great and really could have scored more, but the goals summed it up from our perspective. One where we stopped playing to the whistle, a comical own goal, and then another direct from a corner. All to do, albeit with a wind advantage second half. And we nearly did it. Far better personality and performance, and lovely strikes from @thomaszaqueu and @calumhughmcintosh gave us a chance. The pressure cranked up, and, with two minutes to go, @martyn_h_davies , as only he can, found space in a crowded area to meet MoM Alfie's throw and break the dam. A winner felt inevitable - we had our chances - but time ran out. A useful wake-up call and momentum to take into the cup final against a strong @cfhampsteadwanderers tomorrow. ๐Ÿ“ธ @itsavashepherd

HW (p)1-1 Apollo Athletic The Bill Price semi-final. No shortage of effort on display, but no quality on the ball either. Understandable given the pitch. It looked like @andybradshaw94 had won it with 20 minutes to go. The loudest man on the marshes somehow stole in undetected for his first goal of the @tombrady era, but a late Apollo leveller forced extra time that neither the teams, neutrals or purists wanted. 30 unforgettable minutes led to a shootout. Initially it looked like our Bromley form would continue - @fergusmcintosh ballooning the first back to The Warren in a real collector's item. But Spong, @tim_carnell , @jaydentejjj and @thomaszaqueu converted, leaving it up to big Dave to work his magic and book our place on the show pitch in a couple of weeks' time. ๐Ÿ“ธ @pushgilbey

HW 3-2 Apollo Athletic The first of two cup matches in a row against Apollo Athletic. A result that was looking comfortable with four minutes to play became decidedly less so after two Apollo goals in two minutes had us hanging on. Three goals in quick second half succession seemed to have secured our place in the semis. The first a great run and finish from Gil after a sumptuous ball over the top from skipper @thomaszaqueu . Then @martyn_h_davies doing what he does best, sliding in to finish off a great cross from Frog. The roles were reversed for the third, Martyn teeing up Frog who for an absolute rocket that no one saw coming, especially the goalkeeper. Thanks mainly to man of the match @markenoksensmith and his magnet head, we had dealt with Apollo's throw-in threat, but eventually it paid off with two scrambled in. Thankfully we saw it out ahead of the rematch in the Bill Price next week.

HW 1 The Gun 3 A sore one that leaves us with it all to do in the league. A @fergusmcintosh header separated the teams until some sliding doors moments midway through the second half. First a top double save stopped us doubling our lead. Straight after, a dangerous Gun cross found its way in, and straight after that we conceded a penalty and sin bin. The latter proved more costly, as although big Dave kept the kick out, Gun scored twice while we were down a man to kill the game. No better game to put things right than against league leaders DFZ on Sunday. ๐Ÿ“ธ @pushgilbey

HW 4 - 2 Zingers After being useless from twelve yards last Sunday, we cracked in four from much further out to reach the Bill Price semi. Two Spong screamers, a corner from @fergusmcintosh , and a @chrisbaxter_ cross defied the xG gods and gave us a healthier lead than our play deserved. Both teams then learned some fancy new rules. Zingers pulled one back from a corner awarded for Dave holding onto the ball too long, and quickly headed in a second, but soon had their momentum checked by a double booking in the same phase of play. We didn't do much with the extra man, but weren't too troubled from then on either. Some big league games next.

HW 3-3(p)The Warren We were up against it from the start, a 10AM KO in Bromley made trickier by @mattrankin_ taking the lead on navigation. Some failed orienteering later, we made it. Lovely setting, but a mudbath. Facing a good side, we found a long throw, some quality delivery and a strict 6"+ selection policy difficult to deal with. Three times we fell behind, the first couple to corners headed in, the last to one headed out but slapped straight back top bins. But, like Rankin in the fields pre-match, we turned things around. A hat-trick for a Frog running wild in the Warren, and nearly a fourth at the death. Onto pens. They can go either way, assuming you hit the target. We didn't, twice, and this time found a deficit we couldn't overturn, even with @jayw4231 saving a pre-Brahim panenka. A 3-1 defeat from the spot and we exit the London Cup at the QF stage. Good luck to TW in the semis.

HW 3-0 Apollo Back to it in January. A little heavier, a little slowerโ€ฆ but still doing the business. This one was all about @thomaszaqueu , who marked his 100th game for the club with a Man of the Match performance. Two assists for the skipper, plus the traditional centurion tankard ๐Ÿป What a player. Great to have the eel @binza9 back after the birth of his son, and straight back on the scoresheet ๐Ÿ‘ถโšฝ Three points to take back to @theadamandevee9 . Over to the other side of London this Sunday for a London Cup Quarter Final. โšฝโšฝ @fergusmcintosh โšฝ @binza9 ๐Ÿ…ฐ๏ธ๐Ÿ…ฐ๏ธ @thomaszaqueu ๐Ÿ…ฐ๏ธ @fcswallop UTW | #TZ100

Ten years ago, our founders sat around a table in @theadamandevee9 strategizing on how they could build a football club, after the first training session down the marshes involved just them, with @roblupton filming @fergusmcintosh and @martyn_h_davies doing step overs against each other. Simply put, the Adam & Eve has been a key part of this club since day one. Ten seasons later, after approximately 254 Sunday's spent at the pub, we're delighted to say that we have extended our partnership. A new fresh kit, a co-designed nod to our ten year anniversary. A few more Sunday's to come. A huge thank you to Justine and all the team at @theadamandevee9 for all your support. Grassroots football doesn't survive without people like you. You're integral to the Marshes community and integral to our club.

HW 4 New River Plate 0 Nobody really needs another HW NRP match report, but in brief nice to sign off 2025 with a strong performance. @mattrankin_ and @thomaszaqueu on the scoresheet, ably supported by @fergusmcintosh and an OG or two. M-Rod, @fcswallop and @maxroyler defensive standouts - a clean sheet against NRP never easy despite some absences their end. Nice to maintain the end-year momentum ahead of a dangerous month with the feet up, which kick starts with the @tim_carnell led Christmas do on Friday.
