I’m looking for someone to help build out our Swiss department at Huston Precision. We have a big year ahead and need someone who can support both production and process development.
We run Citizen D25s with a focus on short-run prototyping (<50 pcs), so you’ll see all kinds of Swiss machining challenges. If you enjoy solving weird machining problems instead of running the same part all day, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll own:
• Program + run our D25s
• Setups + first-article tuning
• Work directly with engineers
• Help define our Swiss standards as we grow
We’re a small, busy prototype shop — lots of variety, lots of problem-solving, and a high bar for quality.
Base Pay: $115,000
Location: South Lake Tahoe (relocation possible — yes, the skiing + biking are legit)

Precision starts with knowing every detail. Our new CMM lets us know a whole lot more.
With tactile and optical sensors, it measures difficult geometries, complex GD&T features, and intricate surface profiles. We’re using it for final part measurement, first-article setups, and feedback to the shop floor. Jason is zipping through the interface to run everything from quick one-off checks to full programmed inspections.

One setup, all the features.
We're expanding into Swiss turning. Swiss turning is ideal for small, slender, and complex parts which are quickly becoming our primary output.
With 12 programmable axes and three parallel programs, the new lathe handles front/back machining and pinch turning at the same time. The B-axis live tooling makes it even more versatile, letting us cut detailed milled geometry anywhere on the part.
For us, that means tighter tolerances, fewer setups, and faster turnaround. We’re focused on building an efficient workflow for fast, low-quantity turnarounds. Beyond learning a new machine and operation, we’re building a custom post processor for Fusion 360 — streamlining code generation and helping us deliver parts faster.

Both of our mills are now running 5-axis tables — making it possible to machine more complex geometries in a single setup. This means tighter tolerances, shorter lead times, and more capability without the extra hassle.
With 5-axis, we can reach features from multiple angles without reclamping, reducing error and improving consistency from the first part to the last. It also lets us integrate intricate details into a single operation, eliminating the need for extra fixtures, handwork, or programming steps — so we can deliver precision and complexity without driving up process costs.

We’ve settled into our new space and expanded into the unit next door — giving us the breathing room to take on bigger projects, add new capabilities, and keep workflows efficient.
Industrial space in a small mountain town isn’t exactly plentiful, so we’re fortunate to have found a modern building to grow into. Modern steel construction, ample power, and over 3,000 sqft (plus overhead lofts) make it a dream for our work.

Meet Jason, our new CNC Manufacturing Engineer!
Jason joined us in June and jumped right in—programming, running, and inspecting new parts from day one. He honed his machining skills at @yuba.college and @chicostate , competed in @projectmfg , and even spent a summer building machines at Haas.
On the shop floor, Jason brings another layer of expertise and enthusiasm. He’s already mastered the Brother control and is loving having 27k RPM on tap for those tiny, intricate features.
You’ll be seeing plenty more of his work around here.

We’ve settled into our new facility in South Lake Tahoe, CA, and we’re looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. This role focuses on programming, part setup, troubleshooting, first article inspection, and operation of 4- and 5-axis CNC mills. Applicants should have experience overseeing parts through the entire production process. Experience with Brother mills and Fusion CAM is a plus but not required.
As a high-mix shop, we specialize in small (<1 inch) parts and complex assemblies while building strong, collaborative relationships with our customers.
