For those in the local DMV area, we are also excited to announce that we have a great in-person event to invite you to! The American Red Cross is lighting their National Headquarters RED❤️, ahead of World Sickle Cell Day, on the evening of June 16. The HU Center for Sickle Cell Disease, the Sickle Cell Association of the National Capital Area, Inc., and the Sickle Cell Coalition of Maryland are working together to sponsor two charter buses (one from the Largo Metro Station and the other from the Howard University/Shaw Metro Station) to take individuals to the Red Cross building in downtown DC. The Howard University Center for Sickle Cell Disease will be hosting a blood drive in the CHS Multipurpose room on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 11am to 4pm. All blood types are needed and we would love for all of you to participate! the event, more details will follow closer to we hope to see you there!
