Squeezing in a last-minute summer getaway before the kids start school Monday. The beaches near Dunedin are hard to beat. Caves, penguins, seals…we even busted out the boogie boards and managed the cold water.
Really saddened by today’s events in Minnesota. We have family there and lots of friends. My thoughts are with those who have suffered from a truly undemocratic and quite frankly barbaric process. Being in a different country that seems to truly value its immigrants and its own people (even when they don’t support the government’s vision) has been fortuitous timing for us. These actions of Trump and those who are lying with him are consuming the rest of the world too; it’s sick, scary, and hard to explain to my girls. I worry we’re just at the beginning and fear those who should be standing up to Trump and his maniacal ways have missed the chance. It’s now up to the people and it’s going to be a hard hill to climb with the overt lying, cheating, obstruction, and manipulation that is so blatantly obvious.
We all need to speak up. The bullies will come in. Don’t let them silence you.
So far…it’s been a good year. Finally feeling a little settled & appreciating the beauty that surrounds. Don’t miss Maisy hiding high in one of the trees.
Christmas in Christchurch. Summertime. That pretty much says it all. Loving these moments with family. Thinking of all our friends and family in the Northern Hemisphere as they settle in for a long winters nap. 😴 🎄
