Thanks to all the beautiful people of #PortPirie for supporting the premiere of #TheGodsOfStrangers. It was an experience I will never forget. An honour to honour our ancestors. @statetheatresa@countryarts_sa@playwritingaus

My Bona held on. She endured and waited and grew a baby and showed up for people and loved her Tom and loved her Elsie and lost Elsie and others she loved and loved her Luca and remained ridiculously strong. And she had a great idea about a play that’s never been done before and I knew she was smart and talented and undervalued and under utilised and so did beautiful Tahli. So she put in a grant to write a thing. And she got it. And here we are. So proud of my Bona. Love her. 💙🧿💙

My beautiful parents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary yesterday. What an achievement. My understanding of marriage is that it is a combination of wonder and struggle. Love and frustration. It is not always easy, choosing one another over and over. Every day. For sixty years.
My parents funded their own wedding in Port Pirie (Nukunu) - and spent any cash gifted to them on extra food and drink to cater for unexpected ‘guests’. They started their marriage with no money. With nothing.
They have built a wonderful life with and for each other. For my brother and me. We have always known, in the marrow of our bones, we were loved, accepted and cherished. Their support has been unwavering, even in the times when I’m sure we were challenging. They have taught us the importance of character, kindness and hard work.
I really won the lottery getting them as parents. I mean, look at them. They are adorable. And they continue to shower us with love and acceptance. They continue to show up for each other and choose one another every day. 💙🧿💙

Twenty years ago, (20!!) David Mealor directed this production of Brian Friel’s beautiful and gutwrenching play TRANSLATIONS - the first show of his new theatre company @flyingpenguin_productions
After a sold out season at @holdenstreettheatres , in 2006 we toured to Melbourne for a season at @malthousetheatre
I was lucky enough to be cast as Maire and to work amongst some truly exceptional artists and people. Recently returned to Adelaide, this was my professional return to the stage and I owe so much to the experience.
My goodness. We were babies. Some of us aren’t on earth anymore. Forever grateful. ‘Always…’ 💙🧿💙

My darling @anocera02 has worked his heart out over the past 4 years writing this gloriously twisted tribute to his divine fiancé @jamiea70 . We sat around my kitchen table with @mcmahoncorey , we dug, we questioned, we laughed, we cried, I almost gave Anthony an anaphylactic allergic reaction when I added sesame oil to salad dressing, we discussed the nature of chaps and where you put your wallet on a night out. And finally, here he is. In all his leather clad glory. A play that is fearless, funny and freaking heartbreaking all at once.
His work is so good it has attracted the crucial support of @statetheatresa ’s Spark program (thank you) and the interest of brilliant collaborators. @riley_spadaro@soundslikesweeney@chrisasimos@anth_nico@annbmat with more to come.
If any of you caught Anthony’s intro to the play at the launch you’ll have experienced his wit, his warmth and his irreverence. I find him irresistible and I’m so farking proud of him. He has a unique and brilliant voice that our stages and audiences will be all the better for experiencing. New Australian work is vital and should be supported. Especially when the people writing it are so spectacularly talented. See you at Log Boy. And DON’T CALL ME MUM IN PUBLIC. #LOGBOY2026 💙🧿💙
