“There’s nothing left. This flood shedded everything and this river will never look how it did before. Guadalupe as we knew in this area is over.” I woke up this morning and decided to drive out to see how I can help. I joined a small group of volunteers who were cleaning up. One man brought his airboat. I believe the wrecking crew I saw in the distance was also volunteering their time. I was out there for about two hours until emergency personnel ran down to the riverbed and said, “Get the hell out of here! A second wave is coming!” My phone started ringing shortly after and it was our national weather alert. I plan to head back out this weekend if anyone else would like to volunteer. Great work to the men and women today. It was emotional and out of this world to see such devastation. My heart goes out to little campers. Stay safe everyone.

"I'd say the Pearl is like it's own little town. I usually bring my friends here. It's just so beautiful especially around the holidays. I lived in Philly for 5 years, and I think Pearl is most walkable in San Antonio, for sure." "Can I ask you something a little more personal?" "That's fine." "How would you describe love?" "That's a tough question! I'd say it's opening yourself to be vulnerable with someone else. It's about discovery. You have a chance to discover something about yourself and with another person. I'd also say love is about human nature and emotion. There's a lot of ways to experience love. That's a tough question." "In a relationship, do you think love is enough?" "No. I think you can love someone and also have differences in approaches to life! In a way, it does come down to love in a healthy relationship, but it also depends on how much the other person also views your acts as love or is also expressing acts of love to you.”

This morning in the freezing weather, a migrant who traveled to San Antonio from Venezuela knocked on my door and asked me if i had any work for him. I called my friend Mariana @thesynthesisgenie , who is also from Venezuela, to help me translate. He told us he has been traveling by train with a goal of getting to Chicago to unite with his family, but doesn’t want to go to the authorities because he’s afraid he will be detained. We felt he was being honest with us and we gave him $40 to help him find a safe place to stay for tonight. This made me think how lucky we are to have what we have. I’m grateful for my family, for my job, and for this thing we call life. There are millions of people who are suffering much more than we can ever imagine. I hope this man finds his way to see his family again. I also realized that if this man has the freaking strength and courage to travel all this way for a better life, in brutal conditions, to knock on a stranger’s door to ask for work, then we can also find the strength and put in the work to make our own dreams come true.

Let freedom ring 🏳️‍🌈 I took my 7 year old godson to his first pride parade in San Antonio yesterday. I asked him what he liked about the parade, and he said he love the colors and was happy to wave his flag 🥹 #prideparade #pridesanantonio #pridemonth #sanantonio #downtownsa #prideparadesa #freedom #prideparadesanantonio @pridecentersa

Last night was heavy. My heart goes out to those who continue to be told who they should be and how they should live their lives. 🌈 End discrimination today.

Looking to meet someone new this weekend? Try this…lol Special thanks to miss Jenny for being down to act in this little skit with me at the pearl and big thanks for @wonderslicepizza for the pie. It was delicious! The @historicpearl has been such a great venue for community collaborations and just a great spot in general to have a little urban fun. Thanks again, Bad Jedi.

My heart goes out to the mothers who lost their children this week. I can’t imagine what they must be going through. I hope we choose to vote for gun reform and better mental health care services in the near future. Its the very least we can do. #gunreform #uvalde #uvaldestrong #uvaldetx #schoolshootings

Let’s get disinfected! 💦😂 I got the chance to catch up with @mrpinatasa during @fiestasa this year to better understand who he is as a person but also to learn more about what he is trying to accomplish for the city. Can Downtown San Antonio become the most artistic playful downtown in America? @mrpinatasa , thank you for spreading joy. You are puro San Antonio.

Keeping it 💯 PURO! After it was announced #joebiden had taken Pennsylvania, San Antos took to the Downtown streets to celebrate the only way, that is, PURO San Anto style baby love. The presidential voter turnout this year was the largest in US history. Pretttty awesome stuff. #staypuro #downtownsa #downtownsanantonio #bidenharris2020 #bexarcounty #sanantoniotexas #sanantonio #protest

Downtown preparing for the worst. I spent some time walking around tonight reflecting on what transpired this year. As I watch downtown prepare for tomorrow morning, I’m hoping the next president will do a better job at uniting this country. #downtownsa2020 #vote
