🇬🇧This adventure started long before we paddled out to surf or film the wave.
Months of planning, scouting trips, hours on Google Earth — and even with all that, you never have full control over what’s going to happen.
Natxo joined the project with one month to go; Kai, a week before. The swell only showed up as a real chance a few days out and we bought tickets with nothing guaranteed, just a lot of faith. Faith that never ran out — because nature is just that unpredictable.
I didn’t let a single negative thought into my head. I pictured scenes of the finished project every day. I didn’t even consider a Plan B.
There were some really tense moments, but in the end it was all worth it.
Today, Searching El Salvador — with @kai_lenny , @natxogonzalez1 , @ridgelenny and @angelinadecesare — is a reality: 22 minutes that take you from the idea to the last wave surfed.
The whole crew gave EVERYTHING. This is a team thing — you don’t do it alone.
So much to learn, so much to be grateful for, so much to celebrate.
We’re going for more.
🇪🇸Esta aventura empezó mucho antes de tirarnos al mar a surfear o a filmar la ola.
Meses de planificación, viajes de scouting, horas en Google Earth —y aun con todo eso nunca tienes el control absoluto de lo que va a suceder.
Natxo se sumó al proyecto faltando un mes; Kai, una semana antes. El swell se definió como oportunidad a pocos días y compramos los pasajes sin nada asegurado, solo con mucha fe. Fe que nunca faltó. PORQUE LA NATURALEZA ES ASÍ DE IMPREDECIBLE.
No permití que un pensamiento negativo invadiera ni por un segundo mi mente. Visualicé cada día escenas del proyecto ya realizado. No contemplé un plan B.
Hubo momentos muy tensos, pero al final todo valió la pena.
Hoy, Searching El Salvador —con @kai_lenny , @natxogonzalez1 , @ridgelenny y @angelinadecesare — es una realidad: 22 minutos de una aventura desde su concepción hasta la última ola surfeada.
Todo el equipo lo dio TODO. Porque esto se hace en equipo: solo, no se hace nada.
Mucho que aprender, mucho que agradecer, mucho que celebrar.

🇬🇧Saying goodbye to a child in this life… I just can’t imagine it. I feel deep empathy, and it hurts. I am a father.
Today, all of us in the Playa Negra family went through something really intense. So many questions come to my heart… not even my mind.

Right before this wave, @joey.beshore paddled past me on his way to the point. We shared a long, heartfelt hug—the first time I’d seen him since his son James passed. He had a beautiful energy about him.
He kept moving, paddled out the back, and sat there quietly. Alone.
Then an unusual set rolled in—cleaner, better lined up, more solid than anything that had come through moments before. He went on it . No one else paddled. Crossed the section, and the wave opened up perfectly right where I was sitting.
This shot is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever filmed at home.
I’m shure @james__beshore had something to do with it. 🙏🏾☝🏾
PLAYA NEGRA, Marzo 2026
La vi llegar… como quien no quiere nada,
piel de noche, risa prestada,
me dijo “ven”… como si fuera gratis,
como si el fuego no quemara.
Negra bella… dulce veneno,
te acercas lento… clavas primero,
me das el cielo… y luego el suelo,
y cuando sangro… dices “te quiero”.
No eras mía… ni de nadie,
solo un juego bien armado,
yo tan limpio… tú tan suave,
y ya estaba condenado.
Esta tablita fue un proyecto que hice junto a @humanocine basado en una simmons rod’g legendaria y con mucha historia, un modelo infalible que merece ser probado por todos los surfers que buscan velocidad y agilidad, y hablado de velocidad y agilidad, llamamos a @matu_maturano para el test drive, sacando este videito alucinante!
