There’s still time to visit this beautiful show at HuFree Gallery curated alongside @christopher_tansey@karimskalliphoto@tarik_skalli_photography and @bill_tansey within Western @hull.libraries on Boulevard. It’s a show that focuses on the Tower blocks of Anlaby Road.
It looked particularly great in the sun when we visited this week.
The gallery has been developed by EofUs with HU3 communities and in partnership with the library. What EofUs loves about this photography focused initiative is that it puts at the heart of the community a place where great work, made by residents or people responding to this place, can be seen for what they are and it is - gold!
Oh and let’s not forget it also draws attention to the amazing resources that are local libraries.
Marfleet Primary School have been visiting Waudby Library for the last few years with all of their classes, and today the year 2 class surprised library staff with cards to say thank you!
The children have drawn images of their favourite books and written about why they enjoy them. 💛
We absolutely love the cards, thank you!

Finally had time to sit and down and reflect upon a non-stop few days…
We had a brilliant time at @britishlibrary at their Fairytales exhibition, followed by an exceptionally emotive evening at @thebritishbookawards
There was laughter, joy and tears as we celebrated the wonder that is the book industry. There certainly was inspiration, power and incredible personal stories shared.
And although we didn’t win the overall Library of the Year Award, we were immensly proud that @hull.libraries was the country winner for the North, and we enjoyed every minute celebrating that alongside all of the other incredible library services and overall winners in the City of Edinburgh team. Huge congratulations 🥳
A massive thank you to our incredible partner for One Hull of a Read @scholastic_uk for inviting us to share the evening with them, and for our lovely gift 💝
You all made us feel so welcome and we were thrilled to celebrate your fabulous FOUR awards along with you!
The icing on the cake…obviously catching up with our besties and integral partner to the project @the_rabbithole.bookshop_ our friend @jeffreykboakye and getting to meet (and have way too many selfies with) lots of other fabulous authors, celebrities and the people who bring fabulous books to the masses.
🎉🥳⭐👏

A week ago already. Still thinking about the incredible @moonchildsanelly lighting up Hull Central Library with her electrifying future ghetto funk sound.
Part of the brilliant @loudinlibraries programme bringing high-quality live music to libraries across the UK.
