Let’s talk about jLo ❤️ This sweet lady is Jennifer aka jLo. She’s my mother in law and she has dementia.
She remembers me as she knows me before she was diagnosed with this brutal illness. She still thinks I’m straight though. Bless her.
I’ve developed a care and terrible love for her. I try to make her laugh (she says I got a potty mouth. She’s right), to remember songs and singers, to dance waltz to reggaeton, even to clap like a proper Andalusian.
She barely recognises the lady in this pictures minutes after I took them. Obviously she doesn’t remember the belongings that once made her be a beautiful stylish woman.
I felt on many occasions a tight knot on my throat and tearful eyes seeing her looking to an unknown horizon, me trying to bring her back from that limbo.
We still has at times some corners on her brain where she brilliantly exudes her skills as teacher correcting my deteriorated english. And in this case I don’t mind lol
This is my love letter to my other mum.
