BTS from a recent shoot with a new client – Kärcher.
There’s always something extra fun about that first project together.
Learning how a brand works, how they like to collaborate and setting the tone for everything that follows.
These behind-the-scenes moments never make the final cut, but they say a lot about the process – the people, the planning and the energy on set.
Big thanks to the Kärcher team for jumping in with us.
Can’t wait to share what we made.
A quick screen recording of one of our projects timelines alongside the finished video — to give a bit of context around what actually goes into a “simple” edit.
Every layer has a job.
Every asset has been tightened by frames.
Music nudged forward or pulled back by milliseconds.
Pauses left in on purpose.
Moments removed even though they were “good”.
Good editing isn’t about throwing effects at a timeline or seeing how busy you can make it look.
It’s about restraint, pacing and problem-solving.
And making hundreds of small, often invisible decisions that guide how someone feels without them ever noticing why.
This is the part of the process most people never see but it’s where the story actually gets shaped, where clarity is found and where a video stops being a collection of shots and starts becoming something that works.
2025 was a huge year of growth for Huddle Productions.
We worked with a stack of new clients and had a few more businesses jump onto our monthly video packages – making it easier for them to keep on top of their content without the constant back-and-forth.
Here’s a quick year-in-review with some of the highlights.
Back in the office as of today and straight into post-production on two projects we wrapped late last year.
If you’ve got a project in the works – or there’s that video you’ve been putting off – let’s have a chat about how we can help.
Flashback to an Oli6 campaign from earlier this year. This one was a lot of fun — 3 brand films and 4 recipe videos, all shot while working alongside a photographer (pretty standard these days).
With a tighter budget, I ran it as a single-person film crew and honestly loved the challenge.
Having two toddlers of my own definitely helped… most of my direction on the day was various tiger roars to get the reactions we needed!
We aimed for a vintage 16mm feel while still shooting on a digital sensor. I reckon the results hit the brief perfectly.
One of my favourite clients this year has been Medical and Aged Care Group who’ve really partnered up with us and joined our monthly shoot subscription.
What I love most about working with them is their respect for their residents, as well as staff and their genuine love of storytelling. They don’t just want “content” – they want stories that honour the people in their care. And that’s something I can always get behind.
In a world where Meta is the primary platform and fast content rules the day, a lot of the old filmmaking techniques don’t get used as often.
But with this group, we still get to slow things down, craft proper narrative and make pieces that feel like films — not just assets.
It’s been a highlight this year working alongside a team that values story, people and intention. Excited to keep building these each month.
Our recent shoot for The Blind Factory wasn’t just about creating one ad – it was about maximising the entire production day.
This 15 second cutdown is designed specifically for YouTube pre-roll and tighter media slots. Same shoot – new purpose.
If you’re not getting multiple outputs from each project, you’re leaving opportunity (and audience reach) untapped.
When you plan it right on set, one production can power an entire campaign.
A few wins from the past month at Huddle Productions – feels good to take a breath and look back on it all.
- Wrapped and delivered a 30th birthday video for a company’s founding celebration — screened at their event and went down a treat.
- Launched Christmas content for one of our homeware clients, right on time for the silly season rush.
-Created a fresh batch of content for a new insurance brand we’ve partnered with. Excited to see the results.
- Completed a new national TVC for The Blind Factory, set to hit screens early next year.
- Spent two days in a Mastermind diving into how to streamline the business, get better results for our clients and grow Huddle in a sustainable, smart way.
- And on a personal note… managed to sneak away to Bali for my brother’s 40th without the business imploding.
Small miracles.
Running a hands-on production business means there’s never a quiet month, but I’m grateful for the clients, collaborators and crew who keep showing up and doing great work.
Bring on the next round!
We’ve partnered with @sundararoom , the first contactless tanning salon in the west, and we’re jumping in to handle their full photography, video strategy and upcoming Meta ads.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been working closely with the owners to shape ideas that boost sales, tighten their brand story and build a marketing system that basically runs itself.
Clean visuals, simple messaging and a structure that keeps new customers rolling in without extra effort on their end.
It’s been a fun one already… and yep, I even got my first cheeky tan!
Some great BTS stills from Friday’s commercial shoot — thanks to Ryan McCurdy for capturing these (and for handling audio on the day!).
Nothing beats a smooth shoot where every department brings creativity, ideas and collaboration to the table.
Big ambitions don’t have to mean big stress, when the pre-production process is done right, the shoot day becomes pure execution and enjoyment.
Had an absolute ball (and made a bit of a mess!) creating content for Armstrong Flooring recently.
Such a great team to collaborate with — open to ideas and full of great input.
We had a lot of fun bringing some playful energy to showcase parts of their flooring range.
Always a win when the work is both creative and full of laughs.
One of the most overlooked parts of filmmaking — in my opinion — is pre-production.
Too often, the focus is on when and where we’re shooting, rather than why.
But that deeper thinking upfront is what really sets a production up for success.
At Huddle Productions, we push hard for more prep time on our commercials. It means fewer surprises on set, a smoother shoot, and less time spent around monitors figuring things out mid-day.
The result?
More time capturing great takes, refining performances, and wrapping on time.
One of the tools we’ve added to our process is Midjourney — helping us create storyboards and, for our latest commercial, full animatics. It’s been a game-changer for communicating flow, feel, and visuals clearly to both the client and the crew.
On this particular project, where every frame was fighting for screen time —
especially with the stunt sequences — having animatics meant we could hit the perfect timing for each moment and execute confidently on set.
Pretty fun to compare the prepro animatic to the end result and seeing how it changed.
If you’re planning a commercial for your business in 2025, let’s chat — we’d love to help you bring it to life.
