Group CEO of Absa, Mr. Kenny Fihla, met with General Manager of Hubtel, Ernest Apenteng, along with the leadership teams of both companies, over a lunch meeting as part of his official visit to Ghana to discuss future collaborations and opportunities across credit, SME financing, payments, and digital finance.

On 2nd April, we joined industry players and partners at the MobileMoney Limited Fintech Partner Exchange Dialogue to explore how collaboration, shared visibility, and faster information sharing can strengthen defenses against fraud.
MBA students and faculty heads from Cornell SC Johnson College of Business visited our head office as part of their global learning tour in Ghana.
They interacted with our team, explored our operations, and had open conversations around Ghana’s fintech space, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and how digital payment systems are being built and used locally.
It also opened up conversations around how academia and industry can engage more closely over time.
Mark Smithson, Regional Director for Anglophone West Africa at the UK Department for Business and Trade, alongside Jo Ann Sackey, paid a visit to our office at Kokomlemle.
This engagement builds on Hubtel’s June 2025 visit to the London Stock Exchange, where meetings with bankers, lawyers, and investment advisors highlighted strong investor appetite for a potential dual listing of Hubtel in Ghana and the UK.
The conversations during his visit explored digital trade, fintech innovation, and opportunities to deepen UK–Ghana collaboration.

Hubtel is helping prepare Ghanaian children for the big AI future. As part of this effort, we partnered with @brainwaveafricatech to train 15 young pupils in Artificial Intelligence.
