... and today the third round of experimenting with reading/writing into running during this week's long run - Springgay and Truman actually suggest a long walk 😇: On surfaces. One topic that surfaced (I am not sure if this is what the two authors meant with the term) while running was the outdoor or trailrunning cliché: "We leave nothing but footprints." Whether a myth, romantic ambition (that Paul Kirtley has already skillfully deconstructed and dismantled in his lecture at the Great Outdoors Festival 2021 to the bushcraft community - look on Youtube for "Building Connections with Nature through Wilderness Skills) or simply a shitty promise we as humans often do not keep, it did spark a few thougths on how different terms can have entirely different meanings depending on their use in different contexts.
And it was certainly a big joy to spend two hours in the snow!

Truly enjoyed a well-deserved portion of darkness, cold, fog and mud during this year's Bello Gallico 100. A million thanks to the organisors and amazing volunteers, who created such a beautiful event, made fantastic food and delivered such splendid support even for the most desparate and tired participants. 🙏🏻
The last ultratrail in a good running year, now off-season and preparing the next one, with more projects connecting running to artistry and activism - a lot to look forward to!
