We are thrilled to partner with @nomaanyc and @westharlem_dc for this evening of great music. 🫶🏽If you love jazz, don’t miss this! —— Repost via @nomaanyc ‼️05/19/26: Emmet Cohen Trio @ The Harlem School of the Arts‼️ Get your tickets folks to this extra special prelude to the 2026 Uptown Arts Stroll. Click #LinkInBio right now to join us for a great evening of music, culture and community! 7:00pm – The Nat King Cole Generation Hope Ensemble challenges young performers to find their own voice within the classic sounds of jazz and swing. By blending rigorous musical training with a focus on social impact, we empower our musicians to see their instruments as tools for community connection. We bridge the gap between tradition and the modern stage, turning classic inspiration into contemporary innovation. 7:30pm – Pianist Emmet Cohen is one of the leading voices of his generation, known for his joyful swing, expressive lyricism, and deep connection to the jazz tradition. A multifaceted artist and bandleader, he has performed with legends including Ron Carter, Benny Golson, Jimmy Cobb, and Christian McBride, and is the creator of the internationally acclaimed Live From Emmet’s Place livestream series. Joining Cohen are bassist Joey Ranieri and drummer Joe Farnsworth, one of the most respected rhythm sections in jazz today. Special guest vocalist Georgia Heers, an internationally recognized rising star, brings her luminous voice and heartfelt interpretations of the Great American Songbook. Together, they deliver an evening of vibrant swing and timeless jazz storytelling. In the Heights is on stage tonight and twice on Saturday. Don’t miss it. 📅 Fri 5/15 • 7PM | Sat 5/16 • 2PM & 6PM HSA Theater | 645 St. Nicholas Ave Tickets: link in bio #InTheHeights #HSADrama #Harlem #NYCTheater #SeeItThisWeekend

Before Hamilton, there was Washington Heights. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote In the Heights as a love letter to his neighborhood — the same streets our students walk every day. Tonight, HSA Drama brings it home. This is what $1.325 million looks like. Last Friday, our students stopped the room at our 2026 Gala — and the room never recovered. Thank you to everyone who showed up, gave, and believed in what our students can become at HSA. The curtain is up. 🎭 #HarlemSchooloftheArts #hsagala26 #HSAnyc #ArtsEducation #Harlem

Before the $10 Hamilton lottery, there was a $20 front-row seat at Rent. Jeffrey Seller didn’t just produce Broadway’s most iconic shows — he changed who got to see them. Four Tony Awards. A Pulitzer. And a belief that access isn’t an afterthought. It’s the mission. That same belief lives at HSA — where every young artist deserves a place on the stage. Join us this Friday, May 8. Since part of it got cut off, we’re reposting @jasonreynolds83 ’s advice to parents whose children want to pursue careers in the arts and to the young people themselves who feel that as their calling. Enjoy! #fyp #artistlife #advicefromartists #authorsofinstagram #harlem
