Saturday night with Jake Hogue (@queen_city_queer_history ), celebrating the launch of his debut book, Cincinnati Before Stonewall: The Untold Queer History of the Queen City.

Jake has been an early supporter of Ohio Pride from the start, and his work uncovering the queer Cincinnatians who shaped this region long before Stonewall, from drag kings on Vine Street to a Black trans woman who became a legend in the 19th-century underworld of Rat Row, is the kind of history that fuels the fight ahead. He inscribed our copy with thanks for “supporting queer history.” The thanks runs both ways.

Grateful to share the evening with our friends at @hrccincinnati . When we know where we’ve been, we fight harder for where we’re going.

On Saturday, May 16, we’re gathering at Roebling Bookstore to celebrate the launch of Cincinnati Before Stonewall: The Untold Queer History of the Queen City by Jake Hogue.📚 Together, we’ll honor the people, places, and resilience that shaped queer Cincinnati long before Stonewall.🌈
Our community has suffered a tragic loss with the passing of Katie Meyer. She was such a strong and visible advocate for the queer community in Northern Kentucky. We will all miss her vibrant energy. Sending our deepest sympathy to her family at this difficult time.
We’re still buzzing from the energy of our Volunteer Open House!!!🤩 Thanks to everyone who joined us for an incredible night of connection and community.🌈 If you couldn’t make it or had to leave early, make sure you sign up to be a volunteer through the link in our bio 🔗
Join HRC Greater Cincinnati for our Volunteer Open House on April 9 and step into the work of leading advocacy right here in our community. This is your moment to turn passion into action—because when we show up together, equality wins.
