Big news, Hartford! HPL’s Downtown Library reopens June 1 at 11 a.m.
Join us as we cut the ribbon and celebrate for a week. We can’t wait to fully welcome you back!
HPLs Downtown Library and Hartford’s City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, to complete repairs following an electrical transformer failure last year. To ensure safety, all power at both sites will be turned off on Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, during repairs.
The Downtown Library will reopen on Wednesday, May 20, at 12 noon. Link in bio for more info!
At HPL’s Downtown Library, we celebrated with a two-day garden party with our friends from the Garden Club of Hartford. Participants explored hands-on activities and learned how to maintain their home gardens.

Throughout April, we celebrated Financial Literacy Month at each of our Library locations. Attendees met with trusted local banks and gained strategies for making smart financial decisions. A special thank you to the BankOn CT members for their support.
