This week’s Open House dance session is extra special — we’re celebrating our founder Emiko’s 45th birthday!
Open House has been a space for 16 years where all ages, backgrounds, and levels can come together to express through House dance and music — rooted in love, community, and the joy of club culture.
Emiko moved to the U.S. from Japan in 1999 and discovered House dance in LA’s underground scene, going out to Deep LA every Sunday. Her passion took her to NYC, Philly, and eventually back to LA — always dancing, learning, sharing, and building community. Open House was born from that deep love of music, movement, and connection.
Come celebrate Emiko, who founded Open House out of a pure love for dancing and community.

He got put on a screen time out for throwing a tantrum when he lost some sports games on the switch.
He’s super competitive and doesn’t like to lose (like me) lol
So when the ban lifted he went ham on some dance videos. 🤣 it made him appreciate his privileges more.
Last night was unforgettable—having all nine of us together under one roof to celebrate our Dad’s 80th birthday was truly special.
I’m overwhelmed with love and gratitude.
A heartfelt thanks to my amazing wife and Wendy for creating such a magical experience, and to all my siblings for making it a full house. Special shoutout to Paul for the bottle of Paradis, and to my older siblings for sharing such beautiful, heartfelt words.

Back home after a two week trip to Japan. It felt like it went by fast!

Didn’t dance as much as I wanted, but left feeling motivated.
May not look like it but todays practice was actually quite a workout lol got the energy from @ericcarterchu closing DJ set I’m glad he recorded from the weekend because we had to leave early.
Practice was 3 ways plus a random step.
Will continue to practice this until I can do it in time and on beat 😆 you guys try and lmk what you think!
