HOTSHOT UP- “It’s A Mindset”
HOTSHOT UP 2026 was held in honor of Thomas Minadeo member of Ventura County Fire Department. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of participants, donors, and volunteers. April 18th 2026 not only marks a day of remembrance and gathering for one of our very own community. It was also the ninth year of existence and privilege of hosting this event! We are forever grateful for those that were able to be a part of that special day. Good times were had, memories were made, and we were together on beautiful day to remind us all how much and how important it is to show up when you can. Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, participants and to @vgubbels and Tommy’s family and friends for allowing us to host this event for Tommy. He is forever In our hearts and together we were able to close our fundraising campaign with a total of $26,971.36. Our efforts and mission would not be possible without the support of this amazing community. Thank you for being a part of this opportunity and organization.

Losing Tommy has changed everything, but I am forever grateful for organizations like @hotshot_up that continue to celebrate his life and remind me that he will never be forgotten.

This Saturday at Harbor Cove Beach: volleyball with a purpose 🏐
Hot Shot Up brings people together each spring to honor firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, while supporting the families they left behind.
It’s a mix of competitive play, casual games, and a beach full of people showing up for a beautiful cause. You can join a team, come watch, or just spend some time out there and take it all in.

It also happens to be the same day as Short Dawgs in da House at the Village - so you can make a full day of it. Start on the sand, then head over for the races, vendors, and dog-friendly fun.

It is a true privilege to dedicate this year’s event to Tommy and to support his loving family. On March 7, 2025, we will mark one year since Tommy’s passing due to job-related cancer. His sacrifice, service to the fire community, and unwavering commitment to helping others will never be forgotten.
This year, we are honored to make his family the sole beneficiaries of our efforts as we continue to carry forward the spirit of dedication and brotherhood that Tommy embodied.
