This was a different experience for me to direct. I've lost many people in my life very close to me, and it has greatly shaped who I am as a filmmaker and person. I lost another amazing friend last year around this time. The baggage that follows you is real. It is overwhelming yet subtle at times. Comes in waves. We are all left carrying memories that can be haunting, but at the same time, the lessons taught.
