The Afro-Taíno futurist world of “Too Soon to Discover Planets, Too Late to Discover Islands” took shape at our theater this weekend, with a focus on the project’s Part III. Following this visually striking performance, creators Orlando Hernández and @kneeheartco invited audiences into their creative process through a live post-show feedback and Q&A session. Special thanks to @cdi_dance for helping bring this unique tap dance-theater experience to Hostos Center. Ahead of The Design Annual’s opening reception on WED, MAY 6, we’re excited to spotlight two of the Digital Design students behind this year’s marketing materials: Heylin Disla Mejia and Eduardo Aquino Nina.   Heylin Disla Mejia • Inspired by her love for artist Ariana Grande, she created an LP (vinyl) cover and promotional poster that layers textures, images, and emotion into one cohesive piece. Her work reflects an intuitive, hands-on process, pulling together materials to create something vibrant and uniquely her own.   Eduardo Aquino Nina • Eduardo explored a conceptual direction, focusing on the idea of ambition —its rise, its fall, and the resilience it requires.
