HOPPER TURNS TWO 🎉
We can’t quite believe it, but we’re almost TWO years old…
So what better excuse than to throw a party?
On Saturday 23rd May, we’ll be open as usual during the day with plenty of fresh stock to get the vibes going, then from 4PM we’re keeping things rolling with open decks, drinks, and maybe even a wee boogie.🕺
BYOB + bring some records if you fancy jumping on the decks 👀
Thank you so much for all the support over the last couple of years - we’ve had another brilliant year and can’t wait for many more. We’d love to catch up with everyone who’s supported us along the way.
Save the date, see you there. 😎
📣📣
We’ll be staying open late on the first Thursday of every month!
Join us tomorrow from 4PM to kick things off, and that’s just the beginning… we’ve got some exciting plans in the works to give your Thursdays that Friday feeling. 🤩
This time last year, @corto.alto played an unforgettable set at Hopper.
We can’t believe it’s already been a year since that special day - a true core memory from our first year in the shop.
Massive thanks to Liam for making it happen, and to everyone who brought the good vibes and danced to the unreal tunes all afternoon.🌀
Big congrats to @corto.alto for landing a slot on the Glastonbury West Holts stage this year - huge wins for Scotland and so well deserved. Catch them if you can, and keep supporting their journey.
We feel very lucky to have seen them live right here in our wee Dumfries shop. ❤️
Tonight at Hopper @middle_class_guilt
Join us for a free in-store session with Glasgow band Middle Class Guilt for an extra special set as they celebrate the launch of their new album “Their King of Comedy”, which is out today!
Open from 7PM, with the performance kicking off at 7.30PM, see you then 👋
This Thursday we’re keeping Hopper open a little later as we roll into a new month!
Rab Martin will be playing tunes from 4–7pm, and Ryan is dropping by with some close-up magic. 🪄♦️✨
We’ll have 10% off new vinyl too, if you feel like having a dig. Pop in if you’re around. 🙏
After collaborating with Brian Harris and The New Desirables on the production of their album Cultural Fossils, Osaeris returned to the multitrack recordings to create something new.
The result is Cultural Fossils (Osaeris Remixes), a lo-fi reinterpretation of four tracks from the original sessions, including the previously unreleased “Just Like Ijahman Said.”
⏩️ Available now as a limited 10” clear vinyl.
Osaeris is the electronic music project of Steve Baxter, bringing over four decades of experience in electronic music to this release, blending vintage sensibilities with stripped-back, lo-fi textures.

New tour date added: Dumfries!
On May 8th we will be playing a FREE in store set at Hopper Records. It’s an early start so get down for 7pm for an extra-special, close-quarters encounter. It is also the day our new album ‘Their King of Comedy’ is released making it extra-extra-special

Just landed ⏩️ Keira, by Susso - the Afro-electronic project of bassist/producer @huwmarcbennett .
Blending lilting rhythms with field recordings from the River Gambia, this is a beautifully balanced record where timeless griot textures meet modern production.
📌 Available at Hopper.
📣 We’re sitting out Record Store Day this year, but we’re still making a day of it.
This Saturday, we’re hosting our own Record SALE Day. We have some fresh second-hand collections (with a few rare finds in the mix), 10% off new vinyl + lots more!
A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support us, it means a lot. 🙌
See you Saturday!
