To mark the occasion, we’re serving a small but meaningful bite on the house this week, Imbul Kiribath, milk rice topped with Pani Pol, a sweet coconut cooked down in kithul treacle.
Traditionally enjoyed on New Year’s Day, we’re stretching the celebration just a little. Available from tomorrow through to Sunday, or until we run out.

I remember the warm smell of baked coconut, dates and jaggery wafting through the house when we walked in. The beautifully dark crust, just waiting for me to sink my teeth into. Archchi's Bibbikkan is one of my favourite lankan cakes, pairing it with a hot cup of tea just hits the spot, I've come to miss it so much and wanted to recreate the memory.
The warm cake is sandwiched between Bitter Dark chocolate and Pears poached in Early Grey tea.
