Some time ago @marinhumane got a sweet pup named Mickey who everyone loved! After a little bit, @marinhumane decided that Mickey would be a GREAT candidate for their Pen Pals of San Quentin program! Which is a special program that teaches nonviolent inmates how to help shelter dogs with special medical and behavioral needs!
Mickey spent a couple of months there with his handler who completely bonded with him and vice versa! Well, after some time Mickey left and went on over to our Hopalong foster program where our amazing friends at @happyhounddaycare took care of him until he would find a home! He had several meet and greets and no one really wanted to commit. Mickey was having a blast regardless, but we really wanted him to find that special family!
Well..after some time we get a call from @marinhumane saying Mickey's person at San Quentin was at their shelter looking for Mickey!!! He had gotten out, saw Mickey was still available, and took off to see about adopting him! We wanted to make sure the connection was still there so we had him go by Happy Hound and visit. Mickey seemed a bit confused about who he was UNTIL Danny whistled and it was over! Mickey had a meltdown! He ran over to him with such excitement that everyone started crying! Danny is now officially Mickey's new dad and we are beyond thrilled! He's doing agility, training and will continue being part of Happy Hounds family! Happy Hound did an amazing job training him! And can't thank them enough for all of their support!
It really takes a village to help these animals! So thankful for Marin, Happy Hound and everyone involved in his adoption!

Buttonwillow is a sweet little gal who is about 6 months old. She does great in the car and is super affectionate. She is quiet and can be shy at first. Mr. Pickles is 100% goofball energy. He is about 25 lbs and good with other dogs. He is energetic, yet settles down when it is time to chill. Mr. Pickles is about a year old. He is a goofball - full of good-natured energy, zest for life, and a desire to do the right thing (even if he isn't always sure what it is). The cutest thing about him is that he will do anything to lay at least partially on you once you sit or lay down - touch is definitely his love language. He is being fostered in a house with other dogs and he does great. Adores a game of fetch, too!
