Hey friends! Finally getting New Year Cards in the mail and fashionably late! And it’s my first time flying solo on holiday cards. 🥴 ✨LIFE UPDATE✨ for those who wanna know: 2025 was a rough year for me. My husband, Steve and I separated last winter. We made it to our 20th anniversary of being together (and married for 6) which was no small feat! But towards the end, the challenges were insurmountable. Resentment was palpable and our relationship became irreparably damaged. We were living as platonic housemates. He chose to move out of our house to take some space from the marriage. And we agreed to try dating other people. While I found distraction, he eventually met someone he felt he was more compatible with. And he was happier living alone. So sadly, a divorce is inevitable now. For the record, it’s really not what I wanted. It’s been a difficult year of grieving the loss of my partner, my best friend and our life together. Feeling replaced by a new girlfriend. Losing my in-laws and so many of the friends we shared that remained loyal to him. 😔 Over the past year I’ve reluctantly come to accept this new normal. Now that we’ve had some space and time away from each other, we’re getting along better and on friendlier terms. We still care about each other, so I’m hopeful we can maintain a meaningful connection. We’re committed to co-parenting our dog. Luna adores us both and seems happy with this arrangement. We love her dearly, so she’ll continue to be a top priority. Our cat, Ollie, lives with me full-time. I’m sharing all this because I feel like people don’t really like to openly discuss these big failures and losses in life. It’s uncomfortable. But in keeping it to myself, I felt alone and disconnected from my community. There were many periods of unemployment, financial strain, deaths in the family, failed IVF treatments and a house renovation gone horribly wrong. I’m sure some of you can relate to these things. 🥴 I was fortunate enough to catch up with many people I care about over the holiday season and it sounds like 2025 was a tough year for many, so I truly and genuinely empathize with everyone’s struggles. ❤️ 👉👉👉continued in comments………..

My puppy, Luna (fka Ivy), was invited to participate in @animalplanet ’s Puppy Bowl XXI! 🐕 She’ll be playing for #TeamRuff and representing @nickelcitycaninerescue ! So back in October, we had ourselves a little adventure - just me and Luna. 💕 We took a road trip across NY State to attend the filming. It was her 1st long car ride, her 1st stay in a hotel, 1st time playing with other puppies (outside her littermates) and her 1st time in front of cameras. 🎥 And she did so great!! Proud dog mama here!! 🐶 It was a very interesting experience and fun meeting lots of puppies, animal lovers and other rescues from around the country. And best of all, I bonded with my “Luna-toons”. 🥰 Although Luna’s not in the starting lineup for the Puppy Bowl, we hope she still makes an appearance on-screen. 🤞 Tune in on Sunday, February 9th at 2pm ET / 11am PT on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS or HBO Max to watch the event!
