Calling all Point Guards 👀 TEXT our Director Coach JB at +1 757-297-7611 to train with me this summer.
All events are in New Jersey at our HoopStudy HQ on Montclair State University!
Players from all over the world travel in to learn the nuances needed to be a successful modern day PG!
Not a traditional PG, these don’t exist if you want to be successful, you must change your definition of what a PG is.
We cover all the foundational and detailed principals needed to lead a team and potentially find a spot on a college roster through our #HoopStudy Development System.
We have helped thousands of hoopers through this curriculum.
See y’all this summer 🤝 #hoopstudy
The Power of YET 🗣️
How we speak @hoopstudyacademy
We support each other.
We speak belief into each other.
We challenge each other’s standards.
And we NEVER talk ourselves out of our future.
“I can’t” becomes “I can’t YET.”
This is the culture.

PARENTS: Comment Path for Mentorship… The child’s play should never determine the mood of the weekend. Tournaments are GREAT. Enjoy them without hanging onto every play.
Don’t let the weekend become a performance review in a new hotel room.
Tournament weekends are a gift. Enjoying the moments as family regardless of the score is what matters most.

@hoopstudy Kitchen Talk. Learn how to lose without excuses. 🗣️ Comment “Path” for our mentorship 🤞
Parents, I get it.
When your child is struggling, not playing well, or not getting the role they want, it’s hard to watch.
So we start looking for reasons.
“It’s the coach.”
“It’s politics.”
“They don’t pass.”
“She’s not getting a fair chance.”
And sometimes, there may be truth in that.
But when we say those things in front of our child, we may be giving them an out.
Now the problem is external.
Now the lesson gets missed.
Because the real opportunity is the adversity.
Learning how to handle frustration.
Learning how to earn more minutes.
Learning how to take ownership when things aren’t going their way.
As parents, we don’t have to ignore unfair situations.
But we do have to be careful not to steal the lesson.
Sometimes the best thing we can say is:
“I know this is hard. Now what can you control?”
That’s where growth starts. Kitchen talk is a toxic conversation.
Struggling with scoring against help? 👇
@hoopstudy Phase 4: Chaos. 2 on 1 Cross Angle Help Side Drill. #HoopStudy
This Drill @hoopstudyacademy focuses on scoring against an engaged defender (somewhere on body) and help side coming from across midline.
If you’re a player struggling with scoring against help add this drill into your workouts with your teammates.

Youth coaches playing zone defense… You’re hurting player development.
Over the last 17 years, we’ve been fortunate to travel the world and learn from top clubs across Europe, Middle East, Russia, Asia and Australia.
We’ve studied how they develop players, how they structure youth basketball, and how intentional they are with the early stages of the game.
And over that same stretch, the NBA has shifted.
Today, 25%+ of NBA players are from outside the U.S.
That’s not an accident.
A lot of these countries don’t allow zone defense or constant pick-and-roll actions too early in development.
Why? Because they understand the priority is not winning 4th grade tournaments.
It’s building players.
In the U.S., we’re chasing wins too early.
And it’s hurting our youth.
Youth basketball should be about development first.
Man-to-man defense only.
Comment “PATH” and we’ll send you info on our new mentorship program.
@hoopstudy we call this Energy On The Ball. Crucial concept.
If you stop the energy of the ball you destroy flow. If you destroy flow, you’re easy to guard.
KEEP Energy on the ball. Make quick decisions. If not this, then that. Keep moving. Keep energy.
