🌟 Congratulations to World Changing Alum Sofie Qwarnström, Ph.D. 🎉
We are delighted to celebrate University of Glasgow alum Sofie Qwarnström, Ph.D. winner of the Culture, Creativity and Sport Award at the Study UK Alumni Awards in France 👏
Sofie is an author and the founder and artistic director of Hoops of Iron, the first English language theatre company in the Greater Geneva area. Her forthcoming book The Tyranny of Type: Tragedy and One sidedness in Shakespeare and Jung will be published by Routledge this year. Drawing on analytical psychology, literature, and philosophy, her work explores what our greatest stories reveal about the human psyche and the ways narrative shapes how we understand ourselves and the world.
This achievement is especially meaningful in the University of Glasgow’s 575th anniversary year. It highlights the global reach of our alumni community and reflects the values that continue to guide it curiosity, collaboration, and confidence.
We are incredibly proud of Sofie and her commitment to creative, interdisciplinary, and culturally enriching work. Through her writing and her leadership in theatre, she is opening new spaces for artistic expression and helping audiences engage more deeply with the stories that shape human experience.
Congratulations once again to Sofie. Your achievements embody the world changing spirit of our global #TeamUofG community.
