I figured it was about time I reintroduced myself on here! I’m Natalie, yarn addict and crochet enthusiast 🫶🏻
I started up my shop last May without knowing much about running a small business and just like that, Hook & Haven Studio is a year old! 🍰🎉
It’s been fun experimenting and finding my style, I’m so grateful to this little community for all the support and love! I’ve seen so many amazing crochet pieces made from my patterns this year—such an incredible feeling seeing your guys’ work 🥹
I’m currently in the middle of a complicated move to our new apartment but I’m so excited to get settled and get back creating normally again! I’ve been writing down and planning lots of little ideas including some free patterns!
A little more about me: I’m 27 years old and live with my husband in Atlantic Canada 🇨🇦🚢🌅🌊🦀
I like lots of little hobbies other than crochet like reading, video games, drawing, writing, obsessing over my dog, etc.

I was lucky enough to test this amazing pattern by @crochetbykelsie and I have to say… of all the patterns I’ve tested for Kelsie, this is BY FAR my favourite!
The legs and body are no-sew, only the head needs to be attached. So. Clever. And there’s a ton of video instructions to assist!
But the BEST part? The instructions for the magnetic accessories! A little orange, apple and rubber ducky—I’m going to have to make all of them now 👀

I used a mix of Feels Like Bliss yarn and Feels Like a Dream by @lionbrandyarn
Here’s your reminder that Bumble Bear looks great in all kinds of yarn! 🧸
This is @lionbrandyarn Go For Fleece with a 7mm hook versus @bernatyarn size 6 blanket yarn with a 6mm hook! Many of the photos for sewing / assembly are taken in blanket yarn so that placement is clearer 🤩 My testers used many kinds of yarn for both their regular and panda bears, I love how different each one looks!

A few of my favourite progress pics of my bumble bear pattern that I’ve been writing the past few days 🧸🎀
I was looking to make a real classic teddy-bear shape, chunky and simple but still as detailed as I could manage—(both arms and legs are made with separate instructions)
I LOVE no and low-sew patterns but I’m putting a real focus on some sewing-heavy patterns for the next little while that will have lots of tips and detailed instructions on some sewing-made-simple tips 🌟 (especially with fur yarn!)
There’s so much you can do with shaping this way and I’m hoping to explore some more ideas I’ve had for a few more chunky animals after this guy!

This super cute pattern test was for the lovely @conkaboo
I had too much fun with this one! (Swipe for a surprise 🍑✨)
The legs and arms are (optionally) made with wire inside so he’s perfectly pose-able. So naturally… he’s very addictive to move around and I keep propping him up in various spots around my apartment lmao.
I also couldn’t resist giving him a little booty, it adds ✨personality✨
