Local, CA King Salmon is back and available at both locations (SF and Mill Valley) today and into this weekend! We are super stoked to rekindle working with a handful of local fishers to bring it back to the menu. It has been a rough 3 year closure for the commercial fishing fleet, and this year’s season will be spotty between the quotas, restrictions, and limited allowable fishing windows. Come by to support your local Salmon fishers! Fish available this weekend from both Sarah of FV Bounty and Mike of FV Pure Luck.
Hello neighbors!
Celebrate Marin’s Ocean Friendly Businesses!
We’ve got a special Chapter Social this month. On Wednesday, May 13, join us as we celebrate the growing community of Marin Ocean Friendly Businesses and stewards of the ocean. We’re excited to welcome Hook Fish Co at Proof Lab Beer Garden and California Native Landscapes into the program. Come and make some new friends while toasting the hard work these cherished Marin businesses are doing to help preserve our coast.
The celebration kicks off at 5pm in the Hook Fish Co at Proof Lab Beer Garden and runs until 8pm.
You can also support the Ocean Friendly Program at home—California Native Landscapes will donate 10% of all sales to Surfrider throughout the day on May 13. Stop by early to shop for your Ocean Friendly spring garden, then stay for drinks, bites, and a chance to celebrate these cherished Marin businesses with us.

Join us on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at Hook Fish Co @ Proof Lab Beer Garden for an evening of shark science, film, and community in support of the California White Shark Project (CWSP). CWSP is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2022 after its long-running research lost institutional funding during the pandemic. While the nonprofit is relatively new, the science is not—Dr. Paul Kanive and Scot Anderson have spent over 30 years studying white sharks along the Marin and San Francisco coastline, building the world’s longest-running data set on these iconic predators. Their work has led to dozens of peer-reviewed publications, advancing scientific understanding and public awareness. Since its founding, CWSP has expanded its education program, bringing the world of white sharks into local classrooms. Enjoy live music, local food and drinks, and a raffle with outdoor-inspired prizes. Hear directly from Paul and Scot during a live Q&A, and explore their research at californiawhitesharkproject.org. The evening concludes with a screening of Near Miss, a short film by Josh Berry that tells the gripping story of a shark encounter and survival.

Join us for a screening of Patagonia’s new film “Fire Lines”, next Thursday at the beer garden. Raffle at 6:30 pm, Film rolls at 7 pm.
Could trail restoration be a tool for better fire management? A group of mountain bikers think so. “Fire Lines” is the story of how the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship incorporated fire management, economic recovery, and conservation into trail restoration efforts after the 2021 Dixie Fire.
We’ll have some Patagonia gear to raffle off, with raffle proceeds going to local trail building legends @access4bikes . $1 of every Patagonia Provisions beer sold that night will also be donated. See you there!
Another beautiful Blue Fin Tuna delivered to our shop by Danny who worked hard to land this 106lb fish. A lot goes into bringing these fish onto a boat and into our shops and we are stoked to have this available for the community at both locations. Thanks for the fish Danny! #knowyourfisherman @dannyb_o_y 🤙
