Sad news today as we lose a real one. Her life: well lived, her spirit moved mountains, her empathy moved us, her understanding of humans and primates often caused people to stop and think about their place in the world…. Talk about a purpose driven life! I was honored to have met her in college and was honored to have been part of the chimpanzoo program doing chimpanzee behavioral observations in zoos. This red shoulder hawk has been living in our creek for years. He comes and goes as he pleases- he’s got a big range-our creek riparian area is good size and he hunts all of it along with his barn owl, great horned owl, screech owl and raven buddies.
