180 days. We arrived thinking, "What on earth are we going to do with all this time?" Spoiler: we figured it out. 😄
Cartagena, you were one of the best places we've ever had the chance to call home. From the moment we walked into town, something just felt right — the people, the history, the architecture, the energy. There was never a dull day. Whether it was a city-wide celebration or a street gathering we stumbled into by accident, the Cartagenians brought it every single time.
What a 6.5 months it was. Christmas light-ups, Three Kings, Carnival, a very memorable drag show, the most incredible Semana Santa processions, and more firework shows than we could count. 🎆 This city knows how to celebrate life.
The pace of it all was its own kind of magic — slow, family-oriented, and genuinely welcoming. Nothing beats wandering through town and finding a patio full of families, or a couple of abuelas sharing tapas and laughing over a glass of wine at 3 in the afternoon. Pure joy. ❤️
The food delivered at every turn. Seafood, Iberian ham, manchego, olives, toastadas ... and then potato chips with anchovies snuck up on us and honestly won. 🥔🐟
A big thank you to the wonderful team at Yacht Port Cartagena — you made the marina feel like home and we are so grateful for that.
And to the sailing community we shared this winter with — people from all over the world, swapping stories, sharing laughs, and planning adventures — it's always one of our favourite parts of this life.
We'll miss this place and the people more than we can say. We'll be back. 🥂⚓

We have walked the streets of Cartagena for many many months and have slowly become blind to all the things around us.
So today we did something a little different on our daily walk to the grocery store. Pick a color and play I spy with your camera 📷 Such a fun way to stop and look around at your surroundings.
