Members of the Honor Flight Network Board of Directors and Executive Advisory Board were pleased to accept a certificate and flag from Kevin Wensing of The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration last Saturday at the WWII Memorial. We are so grateful to the Commemoration for its important leadership and educational outreach – appropriately thanking and honoring veterans of the Vietnam War. Through our partnership with the Commemoration, Vietnam veterans on Honor Flight trips were recognized with commemorative pins, often during special ceremonies near the Vietnam Wall. Our sincere thanks to the Commemoration on a job well done, welcoming these heroes home. #honorflight
Jerry Kelley, a Navy Veteran and resident here at Freedom Plaza, recently returned from an Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C., where he had the opportunity to visit the memorials and reflect on his service alongside a group of fellow veterans. Hearing about his experience from seeing the memorials to sharing the journey with others who served was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made and the bonds that continue to connect our veterans.
It was a beautiful and remarkable experience, and we are so grateful Jerry was able to be part of it. Welcome home, Jerry, and thank you for your service. ❤️ @honorflightnetwork
